Happy Friday to everyone!!! We hope everyone has had a great week and is recovering from the ice and snow! It has been so nice to see the sun this week 😎🌞

Yesterday was National Pound Cake Day. Do you know how the pound cake got its name?
Well, it originated in Northern Europe and dates back to the early 18th century. At first, the pound cake weighed four pounds. The ingredients in the cake were measured up to one pound each. This is how it was traditionally made. One pound each of the following ingredients - butter, flour, sugar and eggs. The name pound cake has stuck around ever since.

Fun facts we never knew!! Enjoy some pictures of some residents enjoying their pound cake yesterday!!

We wanted to let everyone know that our residents are safe and warm. We also wanted to thank our staff that have been able to make it to work!! Taking care of residents is #️⃣1️⃣ priority and we could not do it without you!! We realize the sacrifices made, and know it is not easy. We also are happy about still not having ANY active Covid cases in the building πŸŽ‰.

Please enjoy some of our pictures!!

We want to thank everyone who made the Valentine's Party for our residents a success 😍❀. So many were involved, from the public sending us LOTS of cards βœ‰, our dietary department for preparing delicious food 🧁πŸͺ, and our staff for making sure the residents had a great time. It felt good to be able to have a party in the dining room again....socially distanced and masked 😷 up of course πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š

Good morning everyone!! We regret to inform you, that due to the incoming weather predicted for next Tuesday, we will have to cancel our Mardi Gras parade. It will be too cold to have our residents outside. We appreciate everyone who was going to participate. We will schedule something in the Spring when the weather will be a little warmer.

Good morning SRRC family and friends!! We hope everyone had a good weekend. We are happy to report that we still do not have any active Covid cases in the building πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ˜πŸŽŠ

We wanted to let everyone know we are still receiving Valentine's Day cards for our residents. We have received an overwhelming number so far, and those are GREATLY appreciated. If you have some you would like to drop off, be sure to get them in by Thursday 😍. We will have a resident party on Friday with cookies, punch, Valentine's Day Bingo and will pass out cards to the residents!

We also wanted to let you know that we are watching the weather forecast to see if we will still be able to have the Mardi Gras Parade on February 16, 2021. We will update tomorrow and let you know the final decision to what is in our resident's best interest.

Happy Friday morning everyone πŸŽ‰πŸ˜. We hope everyone is having a great 2021 so far. January was a busy month here at Sabine Retirement, and February will be busy as well.

We would like to remind you we are still taking in Valentine's Day cards from you guys to give to the residents.

We also would like to try something a little different for Mardi Gras this year πŸ₯³. We want to give our residents a Mardi Gras parade, but need your help!

This year, on February 16 (Fat Tuesday), we are asking the public to give our residents a parade like we did in 2020, except decorate your vehicle in Mardi Gras decorations. We will have our residents lined up on the sidewalk dressed in Mardi Gras attire, while they watch their loved ones drive thru our parking lot.

You can play music, be dressed up yourself, hang signs on your vehicle, or simply show up and drive by!!

We are very excited about giving our residents a Covid-style Mardi Gras and letting them still be able to celebrate and have fun!!

We plan to have the parade start at 1:00 p.m. on February 16, 2021. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call!! However, the biggest thing you can do, is HELP SPREAD THE WORD πŸ—£. We look forward to seeing you on February 16 to put some smiles on the faces of our residents!

Good morning SRRC families and friends! We hope that everyone is having a wonderful first full week of 2021. Here at the facility, we have had a great week so far.

We are planning our Valentine's Day festivities, and need your help! We are in need of cards for our residents for Valentine's Day. Each resident has a mailbox for cards and we would like to have help from the community to fill them up with love!

If you would like to send some cards, they would GREATLY appreciate it!

Our address is: 965 Fisher Road, Many, LA 71449. Or you can also drop them off to the facility.

We appreciate your help in showing our residents some love!

Happy New Year to our SRRC families and friendsπŸŽ‰πŸ˜πŸŽŠ.

I think we all agree that 2020 has been a year to remember.
There have been times of sadness filled with anxiety, and there was also tears and times of hopelessness. There was also times of happiness and times of laughter.

We want to thank each and every person that left their little mark on our facility. Thank you to each and every member of our staff for making our facility a special place to live, and to work. Thank you to our staff for also making sure our residents were happy and adjusted well to the "new normal" that 2020 brought us.

We also want to thank our families. Without your patience and understanding, it would have been more of a challenge to adapt to our new rules that have been laid out before us in 2020. You guys have been amazing!!!

We are also looking forward to getting back to our resident's beloved activities, such as BINGO, now that we are officially a Covid Free facility!!!

Today we would like to take a moment to think of those, who are no longer with us to celebrate the new year. We lost precious loved ones in 2020, and their memories will live on with us forever.

This year, we will rise up and make every moment count. We look forward to making 2021 a year to remember!!

Happy Friday SRRC family and friends!! The last two weeks have been filled with so much joy. We have been able to have visitors, which has made our residents and families so happy😁. We have also been able to resume dining room meals on a limited, rotating schedule due to still having to social distance while eating. BINGO and other activities has also been moved back to the dining room which has made our residents even more happy!! Things are slowly, but surely, returning to as normal as we can have, given we do still have restrictions. I have attached some pictures of some of our first week visitations. We are still taking appointments, so give us a call to set up your time!!

Again, we appreciate you and your continued patience as we continue to navigate nursing facility life these days.

Good morning family and friends!!! Today is a great day for us here at Sabine Retirement. We finally got our beautician back and our residents were oh so happy!!! We also have our first appointments scheduled today for families. We have waited this day for 7 months. We are so so thankful for this day and will make the most of it!

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through this together.

Good news everyone. We are now able to accept visitors by APPOINTMENT ONLY. There are certain guidelines that still have to be followed in order to maintain our resident's safety, but we are excited they get to see their families. Please call our facility and speak to Jodi to schedule your appointment!

To our SRRC family members:

We realize that by now, you have probably heard that our Governor, along with The Center for Medicare Services, revised nursing facility visitation as of Friday, September 18. We understand that creates a lot of happiness amongst our families given the potential for visitation.

We ask that you be patient with us as we develop our facility policies and procedures for visitation. This will be an important process as we strive to keep our residents as well as yourself, safe.

We will not have these policies in place until mid week. Once they are in place, we will notify each family as to how to proceed with visitation.

Again, we appreciate your continued patience during this process. We know you are anxious to see your loved ones.

We look forward to visiting soon!!
