🚨 EMERGENCY SHELTER OPEN 🚨 An emergency shelter is now open for community members impacted by flooding, hosted by the Nooksack Tribe. This shelter is open to all community members.

📍 Mi’sq’eq’o Community Building: 2515 Sulwhanon Drive, Everson
🕑 Open through Friday, December 12 at 2:00 PM (unless otherwise announced)

If you are able, please bring personal necessities such as:
• Phone chargers
• A change of clothes
• Medications
• Blankets, pillows, or air mattresses (if you have them)

Please note:
✔️ Limited cots are available at this time
🚫 Drug & alcohol free facility

Whatcom Ready is the information channel operated by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management (WCSO DEM) and City of Bellingham Fire Department Office of Emergency Management. 🚨 VOLUNTARY EVACUATION NOTICE 🚨
Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Ferndale is urging residents in specific low-lying areas to begin voluntary evacuation NOW due to the potential for major flooding over the next several days.

Floodwaters may rise beginning Thursday, Dec. 11 through Saturday, Dec. 13, with additional events possible next week.

If you choose to shelter in place, please be prepared to do so for at least 24 hours, and be aware that emergency response may be delayed.

Temporary shelter options are available on both sides of I-5 for those who need them.
