DreamLife Destiny supporting outside the Wipple building in below freezing weather!

DreamLifer: My wife and I came here for a better life, just like foreign immigrants. I feel that it’s my duty to fight for their rights. I am glad I was able to make it out and bring hot beverages (apple cider, cocoa, and chai tea) to keep the other protesters warm, with the help of my IHS worker, Kafiya.

Dreaming Big and Scoring Bigger: DreamLifers Shine at Special Olympics Poly Hockey

What's more Minnesota than HOCKEY?? This weekend two of our Dreamlifers took place in the Special Olympics Metro Regional Poly Hockey Competition, showing off their true Minnesotan colors. One of the Dreamlifers Teams took home the 1st place title and the other team took home 4th place title. What a show of sportsmanship and team spirit. Our Dreamlifers really showed up for their teams both playing forwards. In an exciting moment in overtime one scored a winning goal in overtime!!!!

This is what living a full and independent life with support looks like. We love to support our Dreamlifers while they chase their dreams. Big thanks to the Special Olympics for hosting such an amazing event. We loved getting out into the community with our Dreamlifers and seeing everyone having a good time participating in the great Minnesota pass time of HOCKEY.

Living the Dream: Building the "Beloved Community" Through Action

Keeping our MLK celebration going strong by getting out into the community. Here at Dreamlife Destiny we believe our community is greater when we all participate to our fullest potential. One way we do that is to have our Dreamlifers doing what they love. For this Dreamlifer that means bowling. By accompanying our Dreamlifers while they participate in activities they love, we take another step closer to creating sustained community integration.

We at Dreamlife Destiny honor the life and work of MLK everyday by laboring to bring about the fullest meaning of community for our Dreamlifers. A community where each and every one of our Dreamlifers are welcomed and participate in the community to their fullest potential.

Honoring the Dream: Community, Connection, and a Very Special Gift

Today we celebrate the 40th anniversary of MLK Day and MLK's 97th birthday. Yesterday we were able to take one of our Dreamlifers to an event put on by Sweet Potato Comfort Pie. We were able to join with the community to celebrate and honor the work of Martin Luther King as well as fortify ourselves for the work still yet to be done.

Dreamlife Destiny was honored to receive a Sweet Potato Comfort Pie from our Dreamlifer. She gifted us the pie in recognition of the services she has received that have helped her meet her goals of learning to cook, go grocery shopping, and get out into the community.

Thank you Sweet Potato Comfort Pie for throwing this event and thank you to our Dreamlifer for giving us a delicious pie.

As we remember and celebrate MLK today, let's continue to come together and bring King's dream into reality one day at a time.

Independence is on the menu! 🍕

Nothing beats the smell of homemade pizza in the kitchen. Today, after a burning up calories at Poly Hockey practice for Special Olympics, one of our DreamLifers showed us that with the right support, living life on your own terms is more than possible—it’s delicious!

Through our IHS (Individualized Home Supports) shifts at DreamLife Destiny, we focus on empowering individuals to master daily tasks like cooking while providing that extra hand to ensure everything runs smoothly. Maintaining independence doesn’t mean doing it all alone; it means having the support to do it your way.

A Day of Magic in Duluth! ✨

There is nothing quite like the North Shore during the holidays! Our DreamLife Destiny staff and DreamLifers headed up to Duluth recently for a day filled with laughter, connection, and festive cheer.

We kicked things off with some holiday shopping and a delicious lunch at Miller Hill Mall—finding those perfect gifts is always better with friends! Afterward, we headed down to Canal Park for a fantastic dinner at Green Mill. The food was great, but the company was even better.

To wrap up our day, we walked through the breathtaking Bentleyville Tour of Lights. Seeing the harbor glow with millions of lights truly captured the spirit of the season. 🎄✨

We returned home with tired feet but very full hearts. Grateful for this amazing community and the memories we’re making together!
