At our June 27 Happy Hour Social event at Arbor Lakes, the Gritpickers Old Time String Band played a lot of old-time favorites for our residents. The band plays a mix of Appalachian and pre-blue grass music, and we absolutely loved it. Take a listen and let us know what you think!

In the middle of the month, we collectively celebrated July birthdays in our Arbor Lakes community with one big birthday party that included cupcakes and live music.

Jazz performer Niny Salem entertained residents as they enjoyed some sweet treats and one another’s company. We wish the happiest of birthdays to all our residents born in July! 🎂🎈🥳

Being a caregiver for a loved one with dementia can be challenging. We’re here to help you find the support you need—right in our community.

Arbor Lakes Senior Living hosts a Dementia Caregiver Support Group event on the second Monday of each month. The next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11, in our second-floor Community Room.

Presented by Arbor Lakes Senior Living and the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter, attendees will learn valuable information and tips on caring for a loved one with memory loss. During this event, we will:

• Discuss the importance of developing a support system.
• Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions.
• Talk through issues and ways of coping.
• Share feelings, needs, and concerns.
• Learn about community resources.
