I recently had 2 retina detachment surgeries, the first on August 6th and then again on August 26th - both on my left eye with limited vision in my right eye.
Matilda has been a wonderful friend, making soup for me, driving from her town just to take me 2 miles down the road to my favorite place to walk. Agreeing wear a patch over her eye to get a sense of what my days have been like since August 1st.
I would normally be at the preserve first thing in the morning to visit Garret's bench, then maybe again with a client later in the day to visit Ayla's.
It has been challenging not being able to drive, to be independent, along with the fatigue from adjusting to minimal sight.
This experience has broken me in many ways, and at the same time strengthened me.
I know who has been there for me , but sadly, mostly the majority who have not......
To write this message has taken me 60 minutes.....
Love to my son ..For All You Do for Me ππππ
Thank you to ( Aubree) for spending half a day with me August 23rd ,first walking with me , coming to be with me from her town) then rushing me to the Retina Center in New Brunswick when it was discovered the left retina detached again just weeks after the 1st surgery.
