💫 My latest yoga journey, Yoga Nidra training through .life ! If you haven’t experienced Yoga Nidra, it is often referred to as “yogic sleep,” and is a deeply relaxing and meditative practice that guides you into a state of conscious relaxation. This was weekend 3 of 6 for training, and it was PROFOUND! I’m excited to continuing to use Yoga Nidra as a part of my self-discovery journey, and look forward to helping others find growth, relaxation, and transformation as well!! 😊 I could write paragraphs about it, but here’s a few highlights:
1. As we were learning about guided imagery, our facilitator Angela said “There is no limit to where you can go, the only limit exists in our minds” and I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about it. We can go anywhere in our minds, if we’re led there or we let ourselves go there.
2. We practiced a grief focused Yoga Nidra that was somehow beautiful, and sad at the same time. Being that today is my Pop Pop’s birthday, and he left this physical world in December 2018, I knew he was who would show up for me before we even started. Then, one of the first parts of the imagery was a little bird leading us somewhere, and grandma always says every cardinal is Pop Pop checking on us, so the tears had already started.
3. Yesterday, we did a small iRest Yoga Nidra, where we were asked to think about our “heartfelt desire,” and set an intention based on it. One of the examples was “I am love itself, expressing itself in every moment, in my every thought, action, and deed,” and I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so drawn to an intention, mantra, or sankalpa before hearing this!! 💕
