Cafe au lait

She is a bit of a diva, requiring longer growing time before finally showing off her stunning blushy champagne glory. I tossed a few plants into the compost this year because the blossoms weren't consistent, so what I will have available is only the best looking ones.
I will also have a few Cafe de Paris (the slightly smaller version which blooms a bit earlier) available on March 1st!

Bloom highlight today: Foxy lady

She's a tri-colored powerhouse in a 3 inch bloom. Raspberry pink brushed edges with creamy yellow center and darker pink underside. One of the first to start blooming and continues through the whole season. I will have a lot of her tubers available to sell on March 1st.

It's been a rough winter without any improvement in my back. Slowly working on digging and separating tubers, but probably half of my stock will simply remain in the ground and overwinter for next season. I'm aiming for opening up sales on March 1st!

Photo is my home garden this week, planting tulips!

Digging commences! (Limited by weather, my back, and whether my family is available to help)

Nearly done labeling. Now it's just the ones that have either not bloomed, or are a casualty of my lack of organization skills. I learned a lot over the last couple of years but have more to learn!

I'm hoping really hard that several specialty varieties bloom soon! I purchased some (expensive!) Late season cuttings and most of them haven't bloomed yet. Several River Merle varieties, Lee's recent introductions, and Fawn.

Some of my newer introductions!

The field of 300 plants is more than 1/2 blooming! I can't keep up with the flowers with my ongoing back issue but I can occasionally make some bouquets. These beauties are out at the farm stand today and tomorrow!
