Nearly done labeling. Now it's just the ones that have either not bloomed, or are a casualty of my lack of organization skills. I learned a lot over the last couple of years but have more to learn!

I'm hoping really hard that several specialty varieties bloom soon! I purchased some (expensive!) Late season cuttings and most of them haven't bloomed yet. Several River Merle varieties, Lee's recent introductions, and Fawn.

Sorry for being out of commission. There is such a thing as to much gardening, specifically when that garden pushes a spinal disc out of place. 😭

I haven't made any bouquets for the last 3 weeks because I haven't been able to get out of bed for more than a couple of minutes at a time, but i was finally able to make it to the dahlia garden today! So bouquets are probably a total bust this year but the dahlia tubers should still be a success.

The dahlias planted in early May are big and gorgeous but only about 10% of them are blooming at this time. I picked a few for fun!

Fresh bouquets out at the stand! The romantic colors are everywhere right now! Pink butterfly snapdragons, Scabiosa, and pink Yarrow highlighted in two $10 bouquets. One other bouquet with red roses, coreopsis, and queen Anne's lace for $15.

The gladiolus are starting to show their colors so I will start harvesting them in a week or so. Most of the dahlias are still really small because of building that garden patch from scratch this spring but I've gotten 3 blooms so far!

Raeann's Mystery gave me the first bloom of the new dahlia garden! She narrowly beat out Bloomquist Compare.

Hoping to finish the perimeter fence soon to discourage wildlife. I also purchased more stakes to finish the netting. Yesterday evening (once the temp was below 80) I weeded and reset a portion of the terrace then spread more wood chips until the sun went down and the mosquitoes came out.

I used to love 80 degree temperatures, but that was before I had babies and packed on nearly 100 pounds!

Almost done creating the new garden! The lowest garden edging are the raw edges left over when a neighbor milled a few trees. The stakes are branches from my forest hammered in to keep the edge in place. The compost is from my goat pen. Tomorrow will be planting the rest of my dahlias, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and spreading wood chips.
Next is the fence!
