Fall is upon us! 🍂 🍁 I’ve made a goal this fall to eat more at home. Not only does it save money, but it’s so much healthier for my family. Slowing down, eating well and savoring all things homemade. Martha Stewart watch out. I’m coming for your vibe.
In honor of my hometown roots, and Taco Tuesday, I’m making a batch of hot carrots! 🥕 🌶️
“hot carrots”—those spicy, tangy, slightly sweet slices swimming alongside jalapeños, onions, oregano, cumin, and a touch of salt. They’re more than just a sidekick to rolled tacos or carne asada fries—they’re part of a lifestyle. In San Diego, they’ve become a taco shop staple, loved for their crunch, heat, and the way they cut through rich foods. They are also packed with youthful skin benefits.
🥕Carrots: Rich in beta-carotene and vitamin A, they support skin cell turnover and can help improve tone and glow.
🫒Olive Oil: Loaded with antioxidants and vitamin E, it hydrates skin and protects against oxidative stress.
🔥Jalapeños: Capsaicin boosts circulation, which helps bring nutrients to the skin’s surface.
🧅Onions: Contain compounds that support collagen production and can aid in calming inflammation.
🧄Garlic Naturally antimicrobial and supportive for clearer skin.
🤎Cumin: High in antioxidants, it helps fight free radicals that accelerate aging.
🌿Oregano: A natural source of carvacrol and rosmarinic acid, both known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
💎Sea Salt: Helps balance hydration and add trace minerals to your diet.
