"In December, let's be extra mindful of this truth: Each time we say YES to something,we are saying NO to something else."
It's morning again. Isn't it kind that this morning thing happens every single day? Another chance? AGAIN? Awesome.
In December, let's be extra mindful of this truth: Each time we say YES to something,we are saying NO to something else. Yes to that party can mean no to snuggle time on the couch. Yes to that favor for a coworker can mean no to an extra favor for your spouse.Yes to one more PTA duty can mean no to self-care. Instead of allowing a smiley YES! SURE! OF COURSE! to be our knee jerk reaction- let's make a conscious effort to take a holy pause and ask ourselves: If I say yes to this, what am I saying no to? To give myself time to consider this I usually say: "That's such a nice offer! Let me get back to you about that!"
This December, let's make sure that it's either an "OH, HECK YES!" or a "No, Thank You." December is a really, really good time to hoard your yeses for yourself and your peace and your people. The world will keep spinning.
