Sorry for the late update but I had surgery the same time Doe had her follow up. Everything looks good on her recovery but the biopsy of her liver showed some concerns so she will be seeing a specialist for that. Her treatment went well and we return in April.

We are still at the hotel and doing pretty good! She started running a fever last night but we nipped that out quickly. She is very sore today but the Dr told her they took everything out laid it aside then put her back together. Changed the bandages this morning and a good bit of drainage but that is normal also and it did look good! If nothing goes wrong we can come home tomorrow! YAY!

Another Praise report: Dr’s said he cannot understand how she is doing so good! All tubes are out and we were transferred to the hotel late this afternoon! If everything goes well and NO setbacks we will be headed to Maplesville MONDAY!!! All the glory to God in this journey!

Today has been one of a lot more pain, broken drains, busted tubes and blown iv’s but she is finally resting after a hard morning. Doctors said everything is going as it should which is good. There is a possibility we will move to the hotel Saturday. Food is very expensive and the closest cafeteria closes at 2:30 pm but I do what I need to.
I have walked a lot of miles with this girl by my side but this has been the roughest by far. I never left her through child birth, lung surgery, many trips to the Cancer Center, her treatments, death of mother then husband 2 weeks later and our bond is unbreakable. I do not care that I miss sleep, my back hurts or I miss home, she is the pump to my heartbeat! We are making it through once again. Just a little slower and a lot more painful but we are seeing the light! We hope everything is going well back home and hope to see everyone soon! Keep those prayers coming, we are feeling each and every one. Love ya’ll.

Sorry about no update but she did not get to the room until after 7 pm and we didn’t get to see her until a little after that. One of her doctors come about 9 and told us the did take all they were supposed to and reconnect everything back using the Y procedure. They also did a couple biopsies. They said the reason for such a long time in recovery is because with this major of a surgery it is normal that she just wasn’t ready to wake up. She had a pretty good night, got up and walked to the bathroom 2 times. She has NOT taken the first thing for pain yet! She has a drain, NG tube and oxygen at the moment but resting very well. I will update after the Dr comes around this morning. Keep those prayers coming.

What a praise report! The surgery is over. It was not as much scar tissue as expected! She did great, she does have a drain and an NG tube. She is not even to recovery yet so we won’t get to see her for another hour or so. Prayers now for speedy recovery!

Pre Op is done! She is set for an 11 am surgery and it could take up to 10 hrs. That was shocking but it is what it is. I will update here tomorrow.

Thank the Lord we went to Emory! She loved this surgeon he seemed so much more educated! And he said he will biopsy ALL ...

Thank the Lord we went to Emory! She loved this surgeon he seemed so much more educated! And he said he will biopsy ALL around it which no one else has talked about. And he said all of the duodenum has to come out with about 1/3 of the stomach and intestines. Surgery is the 11th (next Tuesday) here at Emory and she has to be here at 7:30 am. We could not believe the difference in this surgeon and the one at City of Hope! She will continue City of Hope for the cancer treatments!
We are here until Thursday and then have to come back on Monday, but God is holding our hand!
