What starts as a thought can spiral into justification.
The mind has a powerful way of defending what it imagines. Once the thought of engaging in harmful behavior enters your mind, the imagination takes over and starts running with "what-if" scenarios. And before you know it, the subconscious mind begins searching for memories to justify it—reminding you that you’ve done this before, survived, and even repented, so it's "okay" this time.
But that is where the cycle begins. The deeper issue is not just the behavior—it is the thoughts and memories that validate and defend it, keeping the cycle alive.
Real freedom comes when you stop letting the mind justify harmful patterns and start breaking the beliefs behind them.
