Our highly-trained & passionate therapists provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to kids of all ages.

Functional Kids, located within the Twin Cities in Maplewood, Minnesota, is a small, specialized occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology clinic. We would love to get to know you and your child. Our team of dedicated and highly trained professionals strive to provide the best in occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology. As therapists we develop personal and individualized therapy services for children and adults with a wide variety of developmental and functional needs. Each therapist is trained in a comprehensive array of treatment approaches. We believe in working as a team with clients, parents, health care providers, and school staff to plan and implement therapy services to children through adulthood. Therapy should be motivating, engaging, challenging and fun!

FunKids Clinic will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th for Thanksgiving.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing holiday! Regular hours will resume on Monday, December 1st.

As Physical Therapy Month wraps up, we wanted to highlight some local adaptive sports and activity opportunities for kids in our community.

A big part of physical therapy is helping your child build independence. When they’re ready to discharge from PT, we want to make sure they have meaningful ways to stay active and continue developing skills like strength, balance, and coordination. Adaptive sports can be a fun and empowering way for your child to keep growing and thriving beyond PT!

Parents sometimes wonder: When should I consider PT for my child?

Here are a few signs that may be worth checking in with a pediatric PT:

✨ Trouble keeping up with peers
✨ Difficulty learning new motor skills (stairs, jumping, riding a trike)
✨ Toe walking that doesn’t go away
✨ Challenges with coordination or balance/frequent falls
✨ Pain that doesn't go away
✨ Asymmetry in movement patterns
