Let’s name this clearly: This is not normal. None of this is normal. And having a response—whether that’s fear, anger, grief, exhaustion, numbness, or confusion—is okay. Your nervous system is responding to ongoing stress, uncertainty, and overload. That makes sense.
If things feel heavy right now, here are a few gentle ways to support your nervous system today:
✨ Breathe slower than usual
Try inhaling for 4 seconds and exhaling for 6–8 seconds, a few times in a row.
✨ Limit your intake
Take breaks from news and social media. Staying informed is important—being flooded is not.
✨ Ground your body
Put your feet on the floor, notice 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear. Bring yourself back to now.
✨ Soften your muscles
Unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders, relax your hands. Small releases add up.
✨ Connect
You don’t have to do this alone. Reach out to someone safe, or let a professional hold space with you.
