Originally from Michigan, I have spent most of my life in Minnesota, where I've developed a deep appreciation for both the vibrancy and challenges in our community. After seeing and experiencing the struggles we all face o
ver the course of my career in local government, I've embarked on a new journey in mental health to extend compassionate care to individuals and couples seeking healing and growth. As a Black, heterosexual, cisgender man, I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment or bias. My areas of focus include:
-Depression and Anxiety: I create space for people to struggle with the complex emotions and feelings created from the experiences of individuality and isolation to cultivate a sense of well-being, communal self, and self-resilience.
-Racial Trauma: We are deeply impacted by the effects of social and systemic racism and discrimination. My practice focuses on self-attunement rooted in self knowledge, examining personal experiences, and cultivating a sense of radical healing and hope.
-Exploring Racial Identity: We are all on a journey of self discovery as we seek to understand ourselves. Questions such as “who am I” and “how would I like to exist in the world” can feel overwhelming. exploring who we are and how we want to exist in the world. I can provide support in your journey toward self discovery in the context of your intersectional identities.
-Grief and Loss: Loss is a universal experience. I offer compassionate guidance to help you process your emotions and find meaning in your experiences.
-Burnout: In today’s fast-paced world, burnout is all too common. Together, we can explore the root causes and develop healthy strategies for healing and self-care.
-Relationship Challenges: Couples facing difficulties can benefit from a supportive environment where we work on improving communication and strengthening your connection.
-Religious Trauma: Having been raised in both the Roman Catholic and evangelical church, I have experienced first hand the pain and trauma that can occur within religious settings. I provide support for individuals of all faith backgrounds dealing with the effects of religious abuse, helping you navigate your healing process.
-Sexual and Gender Identity: I am here to support you in exploring and affirming your sexual or gender identity in a safe and accepting space.
-Healthy Masculinity: I am here to help support male identifying individuals in exploring the helpful and unhelpful aspects of your identity and set goals for growing into a healed and healthy sense of self. While I am here to support individuals of all professional backgrounds, I am particularly interested in supporting people working in government, education, first response, healthcare, community organizing, social work, and other community-based work. I am excited to announce that I will be accepting new clients starting in September.
