Noel Nix, Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professional

Noel Nix, Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professional My approach to counseling is rooted in person-centered, multicultural, feminist, and radical healing perspectives. Welcome! Thomas.

I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment or bias. I'm Noel Nix, and I'm so glad you found my profile. Originally from Michigan, I have spent most of my life in Minnesota, where I've developed a deep appreciation for both the vibrancy and challenges in our community. After seeing and experiencing the struggles we all face over the course of my career in local government, I've embarked on a new journey in mental health to extend compassionate care to individuals and couples seeking healing and growth. As a Black, heterosexual, cisgender man, I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment or bias. My areas of focus include:

-Depression and Anxiety: I create space for people to struggle with the complex emotions and feelings created from the experiences of individuality and isolation to cultivate a sense of well-being, communal self, and self-resilience.

-Racial Trauma: We are deeply impacted by the effects of social and systemic racism and discrimination. My practice focuses on self-attunement rooted in self knowledge, examining personal experiences, and cultivating a sense of radical healing and hope.

-Exploring Racial Identity: We are all on a journey of self discovery as we seek to understand ourselves. Questions such as “who am I” and “how would I like to exist in the world” can feel overwhelming. exploring who we are and how we want to exist in the world. I can provide support in your journey toward self discovery in the context of your intersectional identities.

-Grief and Loss: Loss is a universal experience. I offer compassionate guidance to help you process your emotions and find meaning in your experiences.

-Burnout: In today’s fast-paced world, burnout is all too common. Together, we can explore the root causes and develop healthy strategies for healing and self-care.

-Relationship Challenges: Couples facing difficulties can benefit from a supportive environment where we work on improving communication and strengthening your connection.

-Religious Trauma: Having been raised in both the Roman Catholic and evangelical church, I have experienced first hand the pain and trauma that can occur within religious settings. I provide support for individuals of all faith backgrounds dealing with the effects of religious abuse, helping you navigate your healing process.

-Sexual and Gender Identity: I am here to support you in exploring and affirming your sexual or gender identity in a safe and accepting space.

-Healthy Masculinity: I am here to help support male identifying individuals in exploring the helpful and unhelpful aspects of your identity and set goals for growing into a healed and healthy sense of self. While I am here to support individuals of all professional backgrounds, I am particularly interested in supporting people working in government, education, first response, healthcare, community organizing, social work, and other community-based work. I am excited to announce that I will be accepting new clients starting in September. If you are aged 16 or older and seeking support for any of the areas above or something else, I invite you to reach out and begin your journey towards healing and growth. Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and healing can be transformative. If you’re ready to take the first step towards a brighter tomorrow, contact me to schedule a consultation. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges and unlock the resilience and strength within you. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your path to healing and empowerment. Education:

The outcome of the next election is close so close, but feels very uncertain. How can we cope with the mix of emotions that this uncertainty can bring on?

Join me and my colleagues this weekend and on November 12 (because we may not know the election outcome by then, unfortunately) to explore our emotions and share ways we can manage in these overwhelming times.
