26 years ago, Urban Breath Yoga began with a simple vision: to create a space where people could come exactly as they are and feel supported both in their practice and in their lives. 

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching this studio grow into something even more meaningful than I imagined — a true community. I’ve seen friendships form, teachers grow, students deepen their practice, and so many lives touched through shared breath and movement.

Whether you’ve been here since the early days or just found us recently, thank you for being part of this journey with us.

I have so much gratitude for these 26 years and also excitement for what’s to come!

✨ Teacher Spotlight featuring Chien Hung✨

Chien’s classes are so fun and playful, mindful and relaxing that you may not even realize the hard core workout you’re getting. In fact, one of his favorite parts of teaching is seeing the relaxed smiles on students’ sweaty faces at the end of a class. Chien started practicing yoga in 2011, motivated by witnessing his father suffer from Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and it immediately became an integral part of his life. “Yoga is my therapy,” Chien says. He completed his 200-hour level teacher training with Jaime Sanchez of West-East Natural Healing in 2012. When Chien isn’t teaching or practicing yoga (which isn’t often), he works as a social worker with clients with HIV and loves running, working out, reading, traveling, and simply goofing around with those he loves.
