Healing that meets you where you are.
With trembling.
With tenderness.
With ancestors in the room.
With grief that doesn’t need to be explained.
With care that isn’t earned.

This is where your nervous system exhales.

Where your body is welcomed as teacher.

Where breath, story, and sensation all belong.

Where you don’t have to be anyone but yourself.

Where healing unfolds at the speed of safety.

Where every part of you is welcome.

Healing is political because injustice lives in the nervous system.

Care is relational because we are wired for connection.

The body is the map because healing begins when we listen inward.

This is the heartbeat of Empowered Spaces. We’re here to nurture your healing through somatic therapy, bodywork, yoga, community gatherings, and a community garden—

all pathways toward repair, resilience, embodied transformation and belonging.

This is a space where care is not performative—it’s felt in the nervous system.

Where healing isn’t separate from justice—it’s part of the same breath.

You are welcome here—in your wholeness, in your exhaustion, in your longing.

You can't think your way out of trauma.

You can't affirm your way out of chronic freeze.

You can't mindset-shift your way into safety when your nervous system is still in survival mode.

This is why at Empowered Spaces, we take a somatic approach to healing.

Because trauma lives in your body—not just your mind.

So your healing needs to live in your body, too.

And here's the deeper truth:

Somatic healing is also political.

Because so many of us were taught to disconnect from our bodies for survival.

Because systems of oppression have targeted our bodies, shaped our nervous systems, and taught us that embodiment is dangerous or shameful.

So when you slow down…

When you listen inward…

When you honor your body’s need for boundaries…

When you reclaim your right to rest, feel, and belong—

You are doing political, liberatory work.

Somatic healing is about so more than stress relief.

It’s about reconnecting to the wisdom that dominant culture tried to disconnect you from.

It's about reclaiming your intuition and innate capacity to heal.

It's about coming home to yourself—and to collective power.

How would your day go differently if you took the time to be curious and asked your body what it needs?

How would you feel differently if you trusted your body carries an inherent intelligence, and is just waiting to share that with you?

Inquiries that you might explore:

what does my body need to feel safe enough slow down?

what does my body need to feel safe enough soften?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to invite in a deeper breath?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to experience more joy?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to move with more ease?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to be more playful?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to be able to hold more pleasure?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to feel more nurtured?

what does my body need to feel safe enough to receive restorative rest?

what does my body need to feel safe enough feel more comfortable?

which one resonates the most with you?

Join us for our next In The Garden Workshop on August 16 with pax reese .human !

This offering is an invitation to follow the deep rhythms of your breath, body and the interweaving rhythms of Life around us.

We’ll share light, connected breath, and practice interoception and subtly expand our awareness into a cooperative experience of ‘the Pulse’ imbedded in all matter; the dirt, worms, trees, water, & each other.

The intention of this space as it relates to our eco-caretaking is to carry our entanglement with the Pulse into our tending in the garden, and beyond into our shared worlds.

Schedule for the morning:
Yoga In The Garden at 8:30am
Gardening from 9:00-10:15am
Workshop with pax at 10:15am

You are invited to join us for the whole morning, or arrive at the start of the workshop.

The In The Garden Workshop series is held in the Empowered Spaces Community Garden, and is a series of workshops centering individual and collective healing, wellbeing, and liberation.

Donation based offering, no one turned away.

To be embodied in a world that teaches you to disconnect? That’s nothing short of revolutionary.

Embodiment isn’t a buzzword or a wellness trend.
It’s a practice. A remembering. A return.

And for many of us, it’s also a radical act.

When the world has taught you to disconnect from your body, from your needs, from your feelings, from your enough-ness—that remembering can feel tender. Unfamiliar. Sometimes even unsafe.

We live in a world that rewards disconnection - conditions us to just push through, to NOT feel, and to be productive no matter the cost.

And for many of us, being in our bodies hasn’t always felt like a safe option.

You may have learned early on that safety meant disconnecting.

That’s why embodied healing can’t be separated from justice.

Healing can’t ignore the systems that taught us to disconnect in the first place.

Healing must name the harm, honor the resilience, and create space for repair.

We hold space for the personal and the political. For grief and joy. For rage and rest.

We name the systems, and we nurture the parts of you that learned how to survive them.

At Empowered Spaces, we know that healing isn’t just about feeling better.
It’s about feeling more you. And you don’t have to do it alone.

What if healing isn’t about changing who you are… but is about caring for every part of you?

Inside every one of us lives a complex, beautiful inner world.

Parts of you that carry pain.
Parts of you that protect.
Parts that hold joy, rage, fear, creativity, numbness, overwhelm, shame.

And every part of you—yes, even the ones that feel too much, too shut down, too angry, too afraid—

deserves compassion, curiosity, and connection.

The essence of parts work is learning to build relationships within.

To turn toward the parts of yourself you used to silence.

To listen to the protectors who worked so hard to keep you safe.

To welcome the younger parts who never stopped hoping they’d be loved.

To build secure attachment with yourself—by showing up with compassion, consistency, and care.

And over time, you discover something powerful:

That you—the deepest, most grounded Self in you—can lead.

You can hold space for all of it.

You can love yourself without leaving anyone behind.

This is the work of healing.

Not fixing.
Not forcing.
Not even finding your “real” self.

So much of healing is about restoring trust—especially within ourselves.

And parts work gives us a way to gently untangle the shame, soothe the fear, and reconnect with our wholeness.

In fact, your healing deepens when you learn to listen.

You don’t have to exile any part of you to heal.

Healing is about becoming the kind of inner companion you always needed.

Over one million children are about to die from a man-made starvation in Gaza, and aid is just miles from the border. Join me in pausing all of your ads, promotions, and regularly scheduled content today, August 1st to make room for Gaza’s voices to be heard in this dire moment. Instead, post a picture of an empty bowl to show your solidarity. You can help us send an urgent message to national news by using bit.ly/gazaisstarving (linked in my bio) to urge networks to report on the one million children that are on the brink of death from forced starvation.

We won’t feed the algorithm while Gaza starves.

Linked the above in my bio for a simple quick action you can take right now.

when witnessing a horror like this, it is so easy to move into overwhelm and to freeze. It can be a natural response to want to look away and disconnect. Finding ways to take small action can help. We can send a message to our nervous system that we do have choice, we can find a way to show up.
