In 1952, Dr. Joseph A. Lechtenberg Sr. graduated from the Marquette University School of Dentistry with a D.D.S. degree. He opened his first practice in Maquoketa with E. V. Andrew, M.D. Upon the retirement of Dr. Andrew, the office was then shared with Leo Biehl, D.D.S. In 1978, Dr. Lechtenberg Senior’s daughter, Mary Pat, received her Dental Hygiene degree and joined the practice. In 1990, Dr. Lechtenberg Senior’s oldest son, Joe, graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and became an associate dentist alongside his father.
Growth & Improvements
As the practice grew, space was at a premium; therefore, Lechtenberg Dental purchased and recently remodeled their present location at 129 W. Pleasant Street. When Dr. Lechtenberg Sr. retired in 1996, his son, Dr. Joe became the sole owner and operator of the practice. In 2011, the practice welcomed Dr. Bradley Young, a graduate of the University of Iowa College of dentistry as an associate. Dr. Young shares our commitment to provide excellent quality of care to the families of the Maquoketa area. In 2015, he took partial ownership alongside Dr. Lechtenberg. In addition to a host of general dentistry services, Dr. Lechtenberg and Dr. Young are both certified to offer Invisalign Clear Braces and same-day “Cerec” crowns. Our team of dental hygienists is now licensed to administer local anesthetic and certified to provide soft tissue laser therapy.
