💖 Hey friends and past students— I wanted to share something really special happening at the Bio-Touch Center here in Tucson! Many of you know I volunteer at the Bio-Touch Center — a nonprofit dedicated to sharing a simple, loving touch-healing technique that helps reduce stress and promote healing. I’d be so excited to see some of you take part in this!

Dr. Kenna Stephenson, named one of America’s Top 50 Women Doctors, will be here this month doing research on how Bio-Touch affects brain activity. She’s bringing a safe, non-invasive brain imaging device (FDA approval expected later this year) that’s been used in research for over two decades.

We’re looking for postmenopausal women aged 50+ to volunteer for a 30–45 minute appointment.

Trusting the Universe (Even in Mahjong)

Sometimes, life reminds us in the simplest ways that we don’t always have to chase what’s meant for us — sometimes, it finds its way right to us.

Last night, I was playing mahjong with a group of friends. This group has a unique style they call messy mahjong. Instead of the traditional setup with tidy walls of tiles, we just dump them all in the center of the table — a chaotic swirl of clinking tiles. As the game began, the other three players eagerly stirred the pile with their hands, searching for the lucky tiles, trying to feel out what might bring them the win.

But something nudged me to try a different approach. I decided to sit back, stay still, and just draw from the handful of tiles sitting right in front of me — no scrambling, no second-guessing. Just trust.

And guess what? Game after game, I pulled three jokers (a rare and precious stroke of luck in mahjong). My hands were nearly complete after the Charleston, and I ended up winning most of the games.

It was a small, playful moment. But it felt like a beautiful lesson: sometimes, we don’t need to force, dig, or hustle. Sometimes, when we trust — whether it's God, the Universe, or just the quiet wisdom inside us — things fall into place more gracefully than we ever imagined.

So wherever you are in life — whether you’re building something, waiting for something, or searching for clarity — maybe give yourself permission to stop stirring the pile for a moment. What’s meant for you might already be sitting right in front of you.
