‼️UPDATE DOLPHIN RESEARCH CENTER MANATEE RESCUE‼️

It's been two months since our rescue of a mother manatee, named "Stripes" and her calf, "Argyle". Stripes was initially rescued due to severe entanglement around both pectoral flippers which obstructed Argyle's ability to nurse (manatee mammary glands are located beneath those flippers). Both were taken to SeaWorld Orlando for rehabilitation and both doing well! Stripe's right pectoral flipper is healing well while her left pectoral flipper had to undergo partial amputation due to the severity of the entanglement. Argle is growing bigger and stronger each day!

Always remember to dispose of your fishing line properly so incidents like this don't occur. Monofilament fishing line can take centuries to degrade in the environment so it's imperative we do our job of disposing of it properly so animals like Stripes and Argyle don't get injured.
