Manta got her swimming papers! Happy Saturday 🐢🌊😅🩵! Manta, a juvenile Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle has been convalescing at The Turtle Hospital since December of last year. She was transferred from New England and treated for cold stunning, pneumonia, and osteomyelitis (deep bone infection). Thank you for all of the love and support for Manta! Manta will be released off the east coast of Florida in an area where Kemps Ridley sea turtles in this life stage call home.

Welcome little one! We admitted our first green hatchling of the season. This little one came from a nest inventory on Bahia Honda, he was still in the egg 🥚😮. Green sea turtle nests are rare in the Florida Keys. Please send prayers and healing energies for our youngest patient 🐢❤️‍🩹🙏🌟.

Patient UPDATE! 🚨Bruce, a juvenile green sea turtle convalescing at The Turtle Hospital is responding to treatment. Bruce was entangled in fishing line, ingested fishing line, was emaciated with fibropapillomatosis. Bruce passed a lot of fishing line. He is eating fresh sea grass and mixed seafood. Bruce’s treatments include broad spectrum antibiotics, IV nutrition, vitamins, and fluids. Bruce will receive tumor removal surgeries when he is up to a healthy weight.
