Many people think baby teeth don’t matter because they’ll fall out anyway. But that’s a common misconception. Primary teeth are like placeholders that help guide where and when the permanent teeth will come in. If they’re ignored—because of cavities, chipped teeth, or early loss—the permanent teeth can erupt in the wrong place. That can lead to crowding, crooked teeth, or even teeth that don’t come in properly.

Baby teeth sit close to the developing adult teeth. If an infection from a cavity isn’t treated, it can spread beyond the tooth roots and affect the permanent teeth underneath. This can cause tooth discoloration, enamel problems, or even misshapen incoming teeth. In serious cases, the infection can damage the surrounding bone, making future eruptions tougher.

Taking care of baby teeth isn’t just about avoiding pain now. It’s about protecting your child’s future smile. Regular dental visits, prompt treatment of cavities, and good at-home brushing and flossing habits create a healthy environment for the permanent teeth to grow in strong and correctly positioned. What happens in the early years leaves a lasting impact—healthy baby teeth set the foundation for a lifetime of oral health.

🌟 Why Consider Anterior Zirconia Restorations? 🌟

✨ Superior Strength: Zirconia is significantly stronger than natural tooth enamel, making it ideal for high bite force situations or teeth grinding.

🎨 Aesthetic Appeal: Modern zirconia crowns closely mimic the appearance of natural teeth, providing an excellent aesthetic outcome.

🌱 Biocompatible: Zirconia is well-tolerated by the body and less likely to cause allergic reactions compared to metal-based crowns.

🔧 Minimal Tooth Removal: Thanks to their strength, zirconia crowns often require less tooth structure to be removed during preparation, preserving more of your natural tooth.

Transform your smile with the benefits of zirconia restorations! 😁✨

Our Story

Things which set Northgate Station Comprehensive Dentistry apart from other practices: The use of 3 dimensional data to plan and deliver care. Dr Muecke was the first dentist in the country to have a CT scanner- almost 20 years ago. He and Dr Leever worked with the Georgia Tech Research Institute in advancing the use of this exciting advance into dental practice. They have a patent on the use of this data to provide precise planning and delivery of care. This has allowed Dr Muecke to complete full mouth rehabilitation in two appointments. This work was presented in London for the Dean of the Royal College of Surgeons and in Biarritz at a global symposium on facial asymmetry. Georgia Tech licensed this from Dr Muecke and formed a separate research and teaching entity within GTRI- Dentech.

Dr Muecke has studied faces as a lifetime pursuit. A definitive study done in France 30 years ago showed clearly that an aging face is the result of the loss of the dentition and related structures- the specialized bone supporting our teeth, gums, ligament systems, and teeth. This results in what we see as an aging face as our soft tissue collapses inward and backward with this loss. This can be reversed. The comprehensive exam you receive at NGSCD includes an initial CT scan with an ultra low dose scanner. This can reveal concerns not otherwise detected by the x-rays to which you are exposed in ordinary dental exams. The scan provides a complete view of your face from above your eyes through your lower airway. All of these structures are reviewed with you. This one x-ray allows the study of all of these structures for detection of problems in the sinuses, jaws, teeth, and airway. Patients quickly identify and understand concerns from these images. This allows us to create a custom plan of treatment for a knowledgeable patient and to provide care of the highest value. There is a cost for everything, but greater value to you in creating your own plan to address your personal concerns.
