What is really in your yogurt?

Flavored yogurts can be a tasty “healthy snack,” but it’s important to check serving size, sugar, and protein before digging in!

🥣 Ingredients: Short & simple is usually better. Watch for “corn syrup,” “fruit puree concentrate,” or long chemical names.
🥣 Sugar: Some cups pack 15–30g per serving – that’s 3–6 tsp! Look for less sugar or mix plain yogurt with fresh fruit.
🥣 Protein: Greek yogurt often has more protein (~10–15g) and less sugar. Protein = keeps you full longer!

Tip: Pair plain yogurt with berries or a drizzle of honey for flavor without the sugar overload.

My go to breakfast (and sometimes dinner!). If you use high quality protein powder and greek yogurt, along with berries, grain free granola (which can be omitted), chia seeds, h**p seeds, flax seeds you end up with an amazing meal packed with 40-50 grams of protein not to mention fiber! Add a little ice and frozen berries and turn this into a protein shake. is my favorite protein powder by far.

Don’t buy into the myth that lifting weights means getting bulky - strength training is key for getting lean, feeling strong, and supporting your long-term health. Thanksgiving is right around the corner - hello, months of holiday get-togethers!
We love the festivities, but let’s be real: there can be a lot of food noise and pressure this time of year, especially if it disrupts your usual routine.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind while in the kitchen:
🍗 Choose white meat without the skin
🥘 Cook stuffing separately and flavor veggies with herbs and spices instead of salt
🌾 Swap whole-wheat flour for white to slow digestion and keep you feeling full

Enjoy the holidays without the stress. Small swaps can make a big difference!

The Weight Loss Center of the North Shore is not a franchise. You will work one-on-one with our medical director, Dr. Carmela Mancini, who is involved in all aspects of your care.

At the Weight Loss Center of the North Shore we know there are many, many factors that affect obesity and we will address all of them with you.

Genetics, environmental factors, sleep patterns, common medications, depression and anxiety, food supply, underlying medical conditions — among other factors — can lead to obesity and our ability to lose weight.

Because obesity and weight loss is so complex, it requires a multidisciplinary team of professionals. This is why we work with experts in the area of fitness, nutrition, and mental and behavioral health.
