Each month, JFS' mobile pantry food truck travels to numerous locations in Atlantic City. People can choose from an array of fruits, vegetables, non-perishable foods and more. To donate food, visit JFS' Margate office Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

History to Present

​Through the Years

Founded in the 1930’s by two community leaders, Cele Cassman and Sara Singer, Jewish Family Service was originally established to help assimilate immigrants resettling in this area and to provide for the poor, the hungry, and the homeless. From a small “storefront” operation, JFS has grown to a full-service social service agency with a staff of 140+ that each year serves more than 8,500 individuals.

​A Community Partner

Today, JFS partners with many community organizations as well as state and county agencies. In addition, JFS is a constituent of the Jewish Federation of Atlantic and Cape May Counties and a partner agency with United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey in Atlantic County. Jewish Family Service is a member of the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies (AJFCA) and the New Jersey Association of Mental Health Agencies (NJAMHA).
