Fellowship Recovery Community Organization

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization Fellowship RCO strives to end discrimination and remove barriers to recovery. Recovery is the solution to addiction. EIN: 81-0748392.

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization (RCO) envisions a world where the power, hope, and healing of recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions is thoroughly understood and embraced. We work to end discrimination and remove barriers to recovery through advocacy, education and service. Our goal is to help those in recovery maintain and sustain their recovery regardless of the pathway while ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect. Your support will help us fulfill our mission to serve Broward residents and their families in recovery from addiction. Fellowship Foundation provides a variety of support services designed to promote community health and wellness through awareness, prevention, and education. Addiction has been identified by US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy as the leading health care crisis facing our nation. Recovery Community Organizations such as Fellowship RCO are recognized by both the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as playing a vital role in promoting community wellness. All residents of Broward County will benefit from this mission. We invite you to support Fellowship Recovery Community Organization's Recovery Community Center Campaign. As Broward County’s first and only RCO, registered with the Association of Recovery Community Organizations (ARCO), Fellowship operates a physical space for connecting all persons in recovery to services and support helpful to their particular circumstance or need. Fellowship Recovery Community Organization is a 501c3.

We were proud to attend and host a resource table at Atlantic Technical College’s Open House in Margate, connecting with over 500 prospective students and families exploring their next steps in education.

Through our Back 2 School Program, Fellowship RCO is committed to supporting individuals in recovery as they pursue their educational goals. We shared information on recovery support services, enrollment navigation, and community resources that help reduce barriers and promote long-term stability.

Our team had meaningful conversations about peer support, basic needs assistance, and pathways to success for those navigating recovery, including individuals experiencing housing instability or crisis. While naloxone distribution was not permitted onsite, we provided education on its life-saving role in overdose prevention and how to access it through our recovery community centers.

Grateful for the opportunity to strengthen partnerships with local educators and continue building a recovery-friendly community where everyone has the support they need to thrive.

The breeze was strong tonight, but so were we 🌕🌊

Every month we attend this Full Moon Beach Meditation as a way to bring us together in the sand, under the glow of the moon, grounded, present, and connected. Tonight, the wind did not distract us, it became part of the experience, reminding us to breathe, release, and flow with whatever comes.

Moments like this are powerful in recovery. Slowing down, being present, and connecting with others helps quiet the mind, reduce stress, and build the kind of inner strength that supports long term healing. Community, mindfulness, and shared intention are all part of the journey.

Grateful for every soul who showed up, sat in stillness, and shared this energy together.

Same moon. Same intention. Stronger every month ✨

Today, Sara Barkley, CEO of Fellowship Recovery Community Organization, and Dean Pasquale, Director of Peer Support, presented at the Statewide Council on Opioid Abatement in Sanford.

Their presentation highlighted the powerful collaboration between Fellowship Recovery Community Organization, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, in developing an innovative jail-based peer support program.

This initiative provides recovery support services, education, and vital connections to community-based providers for incarcerated individuals and their families, ensuring continuity of care both inside the jail and upon reentry into the community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony and his outstanding team at the Broward Sheriff’s Office 🚔, the Florida Department of Children and Families, as well as the dedicated peer specialists at Fellowship Recovery Community Organization 💙 and the Statewide Council on Opioid Abatement. Your leadership, partnership, and commitment continue to make a meaningful impact in the fight against the opioid crisis. 💪🌟

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization was proud to be out in the community for a powerful day of service and connection.

Sara and Eric represented Fellowship RCO at Compassionate Care Saturdays, an outreach event hosted by Changing Lives North Broward at Zion – Ministries Under the Cross in Fort Lauderdale. This community-driven event brings together organizations and volunteers to provide support, resources, and compassionate care to individuals and families in need.

Compassionate Care Saturdays are rooted in meeting people where they are, offering essentials like health resources, referrals, and meaningful human connection in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Events like this help break down barriers to care and create pathways to hope, healing, and recovery.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our community partners and continue extending recovery support beyond our walls. 💚

Give Back Day in Action 💚
Give Back Day is all about showing up for your community through service, support, and connection. It reflects the idea of giving your time and energy to help others, strengthening communities and creating meaningful impact for those who need it most.
We’re proud to share that Fellowship RCO’s Board Chairman Rick Riccardi and Vice Chair Garry Smyth helped make that impact possible by providing transportation for unhoused individuals on the Rotary Connection Bus to a special event at Mt. Olive Church, in collaboration with Senator Rosalind Osgood.
Moments like this remind us that even small acts of service can create real change. Access, connection, and compassion matter, and together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community for all.

Something as simple as a towel can restore a sense of dignity.

When individuals come to Fellowship Recovery Community Organization for support, many are rebuilding their lives one step at a time. Basic items like bath towels and washcloths help create comfort, stability, and care during that journey.

We’re currently collecting new or gently used bath towels and washcloths to support individuals accessing recovery services in our community.

We are excited to share that our latest Recovery In Action newsletter and blog is now live on our website.

Read it here:
https://fellowshiprco.org/expanding-impact-strengthening-recovery/

In this edition, we share how Fellowship is expanding impact, strengthening recovery, and evolving our programs to meet the growing needs of our community. From updates on our digital refresh to the development of our 2025 Annual Report, we are building what comes next with intention and purpose.

Recovery does not pause, and neither do we.

We also need your support.

Fellowship is currently collecting gently used donations to sell at Margate’s Community Yard Sale on March 7. All proceeds will go directly toward scholarships for individuals staying in our Respite program as they begin their recovery journey.

In addition to fundraising, our team will be present at the event distributing Narcan and sharing information about our recovery residences, respite services, and peer support programs with community members. This is an opportunity not only to raise funds, but also to raise awareness and increase access to lifesaving resources.

If you have electronics, small appliances, clothing, toys, or household items you are ready to part with, please consider donating.

Donations can be dropped off at:
5400 W Atlantic Blvd
Margate, Florida 33063

Deadline to donate: March 5, 2026

For more information, call 754-205-7428.

Every item donated helps create access to safety, structure, and support for someone taking their first steps in recovery.

Every life restored is a victory.

Please share to help us spread the word.

In observance of Presidents’ Day, our Margate and Fort Lauderdale Recovery Community Centers will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. We will reopen on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 for regular business hours.

Take a pause to honor the leadership, vision, and service of those who have held the office of President of the United States. Presidents’ Day is a time to reflect on civic responsibility, unity, and the shared work of strengthening our communities.

We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to rest, reflect, and, if you’re able, engage in an act of service that contributes to the greater good.

We look forward to seeing you back at the RCC on Tuesday! 💙
