Newborn exam! The newborn exam is one of the best parts of the immediate postpartum that us midwives get to do with the family. We go from head to toe and make sure reflexes, sounds, breaths, heart rate, oxygen saturation, overall babies assessment is excellent as it should be :-) This is also the part where we can measure the baby and do the weigh in, which is everyone’s favorite!

What a day!! Began the day in the “weeee”hours of the morning with a beautiful water birth. Then full day of clinic, then off to mommy duties!
