Chipola Area Autism Resource Center, Inc.

Chipola Area Autism Resource Center, Inc. CAARC is a local 501c3 tax-exempt non-profit charity founded to increase autism related educational/recreational resources in our rural community.

We are a not-for-profit autism resource center founded by parents and grandparents of children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). We began meeting as the Jackson County Autism Support Group in 2010. We soon realized that there were many more services needed in our rural community and began organizing Chipola Area Autism Resource Center, Inc. to begin to address some of these needs.

The snail reminds us that slow is not a setback—it’s a form of care. Carrying its home on its back, the snail moves at its own pace, pausing when needed and staying protected along the way. As a stress relief metaphor, the snail invites us to release urgency, honor our limits, and recognize that steady, gentle movement is still progress. Sometimes the most regulating thing we can do is slow down and trust that we’re arriving exactly when we’re meant to.

In this gentle, guided session, you’ll be led step-by-step to draw your own snail while reflecting on where you can soften urgency and honor your natural rhythm.
No art experience needed! Just bring yourself, your favorite drawing tools, and a willingness to breathe, slow down, and create. (Designed for adults, but children and families are warmly welcome!)

Hosted live via Zoom by Dr. Lee Cohen.

This organization is a vendor with Voc Rehab as I understand it. So as things get finalized and training is scheduled you will want to reach out to your Voc Rehab Counselor to ensure this service is included in their plan. I will be checking into the process for my own children and will share what I learn along the way!
