Jackson Hospital was proud to host the AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) Obstetric Patient Safety Course, bringing together OB nurses and physicians, ED nurses, Jackson County Fire Rescue EMTs and paramedics, and Northwest Florida Community Hospital emergency department nurses for collaborative, hands-on obstetric emergency training.

This valuable workshop focused on strengthening teamwork, communication, and emergency response skills to help improve maternal and newborn outcomes across our region.

A special thank you to the Florida Blue Foundation for making this important educational opportunity possible and for supporting safer care for mothers and babies in our communities!

Jackson Hospital Honors Colby Roland, LPN, as Employee of the Quarter
May 6, 2026, Marianna, FL - Jackson Hospital proudly recognizes Colby Roland, LPN, as Employee of the Quarter for his compassion, dedication, and commitment to patient centered care.

Colby earned this recognition after going above and beyond for a vulnerable patient brought in by EMS after being found at a truck stop. The patient, experiencing homelessness and facing a probable below the knee amputation, arrived with no personal belongings and limited support.

After completing a 12-hour night shift, Colby drove to the truck stop on his own time to retrieve the patient’s wallet and phone, ensuring he would not have to face a life altering surgery alone and without his personal effects. This act provided the patient with dignity and comfort during a difficult time and reflects the true heart of healthcare, caring for the whole person.

“Colby’s selflessness and empathy truly reflect the heart of healthcare,” said Brooke Donaldson, CEO. “He demonstrated what it means to go above and beyond for our patients, and his actions made a meaningful difference.”

The Employee of the Quarter program recognizes team members who exemplify the mission and values of Jackson Hospital. Colby Roland represents the very best of this commitment.
