Today we honor those we’ve lost, celebrate the progress we’ve made, and recommit to ending the HIV epidemic together.

Community Health Centers play a vital role in this work. In addition to increasing HIV testing around December 1st, we encourage all centers to take it a step further this year:

⭕️Track and report the number of patients currently on PrEP and PEP
⭕️Identify opportunities to expand access to preventive medication
⭕️Engage your community with education, support, and linkage to care

Let’s continue strengthening prevention, treatment, and trust in our communities.

Today, we celebrate Rural Health Day and the vital role Community Health Centers (CHCs) play in keeping rural America healthy.

Community Health Centers proudly serve up to 1 in 3 rural Americans, ensuring access to affordable, comprehensive, and effective care close to home.

In communities where hospitals are closing at unprecedented rates, CHCs provide stability — bridging gaps in care at a fraction of the cost and delivering outcomes that often match or exceed national benchmarks in chronic disease management, prenatal care, and preventive screenings.

Rural communities deserve strong, sustainable healthcare. Community Health Centers make that possible.

Theme: “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response”
This year’s theme is a powerful call for strong political leadership, global cooperation, and human-rights-centered approaches to end AIDS by 2030.

Did You Know?
* In 2024, an estimated 40.8 million people were living with HIV worldwide.
* About 630,000 people died from HIV-related causes in 2024.
* An estimated 1.3 million people acquired HIV in 2024.

These numbers remind us that HIV is still a critical global health challenge—one that requires awareness, compassion, and commitment from all of us.
