I am officially a 2026 IBJJF Pan Champion! And for the first time ever, I won both fights by submission! And my finals opponent was the defending Pan champion himself! So I could not be more pleased with how this gold medal became mine!

I then entered open class, where I did not have much of a chance against a powerful opponent who also had 60 lbs on me! But he did say that he had 100% submission rate in competition until today, so I’m glad I was at least able to break that streak for him!

Altogether I ended up with gold in my division and bronze in open class after spending a week with a bad stomach virus here in Florida! So bad, I couldn’t even leave my hotel room all day Thursday, and stomach pains so bad I couldn’t stand up straight Thursday and Friday.

So, to say I wanted this gold medal very badly is an understatement!

It was a long week away from my family outside of my daughter who was here with me and competed on Wednesday and did an amazing job herself.

January is an amazing wife who has held down the fort while I was away and probably needs a chiropractic adjustment more than anybody because of it!

And of course Professors Marcio Andre and Brenda Heller who coach and run Marcio Andre Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy and expose us all to championship level Jiu jitsu every single day! I love being a part of this team!

***BIG ANNOUNCEMENT*** I will be out of the office from Tuesday, March 24th thru Monday, March 30th! My daughter and I will be competing at the IBJJF Pans Championship in Kissimmee, FL, but she fights Wednesday and I fight a week from Sunday. So with travel days Tuesday and a week from Monday I will be out of the office for the longest stretch I’ve ever been out in my 16 year career!

As such, I will be in the office all day Monday, March 23rd until 6pm. If you need an adjustment, today or Monday are your best bets until I come back on Tuesday, March 31st!
