Seriously, when was the last time you checked in with your nether regions? I know, it can seem a little awkward, but knowing what your body looks like can really be important! It helps you identify when something isn’t quite right, so you can get any help that you need early!

Did you know pelvic floor muscle tension or overactivity can cause all of those symptoms? It’s true… it can lead to:
✅ Bladder urgency, frequency or voiding problems
✅ Pelvic, abdominal or buttock pain
✅ Pain in the ge****ls or re**um
✅ Pain related to intimacy
✅ Constipation or defecatory dysfunction

💕 Postpartum Health Matters— You Matter! Here are 5 tips to help:
✅ Don’t ignore pain or leaking: If this is happening, it’s a sign that something in your body isn’t working optimally. Seek help! Know that there are solutions available!
✅ Listen to your body: Sometimes, we have to be our own best advocate. If something isn’t seeming right, speak up and get help!
✅ Keep your bowels moving! Constipation truly makes all pelvic health problems worse— pain, leakage? Literally everything.
✅ Ease into exercise. There can feel like so much pressure to rush back to exercise. The reality is that your body grew a baby for over 9 months. It can take just as long for your body to heal and gradually recover. Slowly ease into exercise you love. No pressure to hurry!
✅ Self-care is important. You matter— and truly, caring for ourselves helps us to be the best we can be for everyone in our lives. You deserve your health to be a priority!

⭐️This is your official permission to do something about it. There are so many conservative options available to help bladder leakage:
➡️ Consider seeing a pelvic floor therapist for an individualized evaluation and treatment plan
➡️Learn strategies to manage pressure and use your muscles to better support your bladder and urethra.
➡️ Consider a support device like a pessary, or an over-the-counter option like Revive or Impressa.
➡️➡️And if your case doesn’t respond to conservative care, see an amazing Urogynecologist or Female Urologist to evaluate you and consider your next steps!

✔️Improve the mobility and length of the muscles around your hips, abdomen and pelvis to help prepare for vaginal or cesarean birth
✔️Manage any problems like pelvic girdle pain, hip pain, low back pain or other things that may occur during your pregnancy
✔️Continue safe exercise during pregnancy to maintain and improve your strength and cardiovascular health
✔️Learn about options during labor and birth, including positions, breathing and pushing strategies and a lot more.
✔️Have a game plan for immediately after birth to handle any problems that arise.
