💩 Are your kids having p**p problems? Constipation in kids can be a huge problem! The good news is that there is so much we can do to help! If your kiddo is struggling, try this:
✅ Focus on increasing water intake and fruits and veggies. Start small- little increases can create a big shift!
✅ Encourage a comfy toilet sit- use a stool to help lift their knees- offer a book or a pinwheel to help them relax to empty
✅ Encourage them to connect to their bodies - listen to urges! When we feel cramps in our bellies- it’s often a sign of things moving! Head into the bathroom for a sit!
✅ Get them moving! Exercise is your friend- so send those kiddos outside to play! (And play with them!)

🌟We had an awesome weekend learning about Ultrasound and integration of imaging into our clinical practice! We are always striving to improve our care, and this is another step@to elevate what we do at SPH!
We’ll now be able to utilize ultrasound imaging to help our patients better connect with their pelvic floor muscles (and actually see them move!), examine bladder emptying to measure post-void residual and help our patients with voiding dysfunction, examine and view the superficial vs deeper muscles of the pelvic floor, visualize diastasis re**us abdominus and measure more specifically - and so so much more!!
Big thank you to .m.donnelly — our ultrasound mentor!!! She is the most fabulous educator, and we’re grateful for her guidance and support as we take this next step for our practice!! We’ll be learning from her more in-person in a few months!! ❤️🥰🙏

🤓Have you ever wondered if the obturator internus is involved in the symptoms you or your patients are dealing with?
✅The Obturator Internus (OI) is a deep hip external rotator and stabilizer. It sits inside the pelvis and shares a connection with the pelvic floor muscles directly and fascially.
Tension and sensitivity in the OI can lead to:
✅ bladder symptoms like urinary urgency, voiding dysfunction or increased frequency
✅ bowel symptoms like defecatory dysfunction and painful bowel movements
✅ Painful intimacy
✅ Pain anywhere around the pelvis — abdomen, low back, tailbone, hips, buttock, and the back of the leg
… and more!
Sooo— if any of this sounds like you, it could be the OI! 🕵️ (and guess what! It’s totally treatable)

2016… can’t believe it was 10 years ago!!
2016 was transformative for me in so many ways! I became a mama— and welcomed my darling Emma into the world!
I struggled to balance being the best mom I could with being the best clinician I could be!
And I said yes to starting teaching!! I began teaching pelvic health continuing education to clinicians across the country — a journey that would lead to unlocking such a deep passion for our field and the clinicians who are the heart of it!
Can’t wait to see what the next 10 years bring! Cheers!🥂
