Patient Testimonial :

I cannot say enough good things about Stand Up Family Medicine, Dr. Mehta, Aundrea and Maria. It felt like I was given a lifeline when I found Dr. Mehta. He was referred to me by another medical professional when I explained to them that my doctor at that time wouldn't see "sick" patients, and that she was very slow to respond to my calls for help with my lingering symptoms after having a bad case of Covid. I made an appointment with Dr. Mehta and he took the time to get to know everything that was going on with me. He was part medical doctor and part therapist, and he got me through those dark times and back to being healthy and active again. He was always available, he genuinely cared about me, and he treated me with the utmost respect, listening to whatever I had to say and delving into my explanations of my symptoms and my answers to his questions to find the root of the problem - and fixing it! I have been through some ups and down with a medical problem that has plagued me for years, and Dr. Mehta has been there to give me support, medications and advise, even when I was miles and miles from home. Never have I felt put off, rushed, or like a bother when I see or talk with Dr. Mehta about any health issue I am having, large or small. He truly wants to help his patients, and I feel like I am getting the absolute best care I can receive from a doctor who is truly invested in my well being. Some might ask why I choose to pay a monthly fee to be a patient of Dr. Mehta when I have Medicare. The reason is simple - your health is everything. The flu shot cannot give you the flu because it doesn’t contain live virus.
Most flu vaccines use either:

Inactivated (killed) flu viruses, or
Pieces of the virus that help your immune system recognize it.

These ingredients train your body to fight the flu — without causing infection.
Some people might feel mild side effects like:

Pumpkin Morning Glory Muffins are healthy, hearty, and so delicious! Loaded with shredded carrots and apples, they’re so moist! And dried cranberries, warm spices, and crunchy pecans make them extra delicious!

Ingredients

1 and 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons pumpkin spice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
1 large apple, shredded
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups grated carrot (about 3 medium)
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

🍏Line a 12 mold muffin tin with paper liners, set aside. Preheat oven to 400 degrees (F).
🍎In medium bowl add the flours, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and salt; whisk well to combine, set aside. In a large bowl add the pumpkin, applesauce, coconut oil, grated apple, vanilla, and carrots; whisk to combine. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the cranberries, coconut and pecans; stir until just combined. 🍏🍏Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups.
🍎Bake for 24 to 28 minutes minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (or with just a few crumbs attached). Cool muffins in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
