Last weekend, Art It Out therapists Maddy Seyres and Rachel Blankenship joined the Trinity Presbyterian Church youth group for an evening of connection and creativity 💙

Together, middle and high schoolers explored ways to cope with anxiety and depression through everyday tactics like grounding, breathing exercises, and movement.. paired with therapeutic art-making for deeper reflection.

Workshops like this remind us: with the right tools (and a little creativity), youth can build resilience and feel less alone in what they’re going through. 🎨✨

🎭🧠 Art It Out took on Dragon Con!

Huge shoutout to Caroline, Emma, Maddy, and Mim (and Chloe 🐶) for representing us over Labor Day weekend and leading incredible mental health conversations through the lens of pop culture.

They spoke on panels covering everything from comic book heroes to pirates, grief, therapy through history, and even why Superman might need a therapist.

Pop culture meets psychology – and we’re here for it. 💥🧠

Such a great morning of learning ☀️ Today’s hands-on training, led by our own Laura Lozano, ATR, LPC and Rachel Blankenship, ATR-P, LAPC, explored the difference between art therapy and art as therapy. Especially as it pertains to our work at Art It Out.

We dove into the Expressive Theories Continuum (ETC) and Media Dimension Variables (MDV) to understand how art materials can be intentionally selected, and reviewed evidence-based interactions to strengthen clinical practice ♥️

So grateful for the chance to learn and deepen our understanding for our work with clients through art 🎨🧠
