8 Week Accelerated Medical Assistant Preparatory Seminar

Course length: 8 weeks in classroom

Tuesday Thru Thursday Day Class 9am-12 and evening class 630pm-930pm

Our program provides Students with hands-on training and education in Medical terminology, patient care and health care. Courses include:

Patient Care and communication
Medical Insurance, Book keeping and Health Sciences
Cardiopulmonary and Electrocardiography
Perform Phlebotomy Procedures
Medical Law, Ethics and Psychology
Measure Vital Signs

Graduates earn a Certificate and are eligible to take the National Certification test. Class starts 9/10/24 Payment Plans available

One Day Sign Language Seminar for Medical and Education Professionals. This would also be perfect for school employees as well as bus drivers/monitors that engage with Special needs on a daily basis. This is a one day 4 hour seminar.
Medical Professional's will learn the following:

*medical vocabulary
*phrases
*sentences
*Handling medical situations with deaf, hard of hearing, non verbal and or a patient/ student that uses sign language as a form of communication.

This workshop will be taught by an American Sign Language Professor and License Medical Professional.

Phlebotomy Technician

Course length: 4 weeks in classroom and laboratory

Tuesday thru Thursday Daytime and Evening courses

Phlebotomy is a specialized area of clinical laboratory practice. Due to the expanding role of the phlebotomist, hands-on training and certification is usually required. A phlebotomist plays a vital part in healthcare by collecting blood specimens from patients for laboratory tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Phlebotomists perform venipunctures, fingersticks, or heelsticks to obtain specimens. In addition, phlebotomists also work with laboratory personnel to manage, process and transport specimens collected from patients. In some settings, phlebotomists may perform bedside testing. Phlebotomists work in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are challenged each day with situations requiring specialized knowledge and skill.

Hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, nursing homes, research settings, and reference labs all employ phlebotomists. Skilled phlebotomists are in great demand now and many more are projected to be needed in the future.

Graduates earn Certificates and are eligible to take National Certification Test.

Students learn how to provide assistance that enriches the lives of their long-term care patients. Students learn how to empower patients by protecting their rights, addressing their basic care needs and teaching patients how to care for themselves.

A host of interesting topics are covered, including: developing interpersonal skills; providing basic care; taking vital signs; providing good nutrition; following safety and emergency procedures; providing restorative care; managing information; dealing with death and dying. There is no prerequisite for this course.

Graduates of the CNA program earn certificates and Georgia State Licenses.
