Happy National Puppy Day!
Puppies bring so much joy, and the early weeks of their lives are incredibly important. Between 4–16 weeks, puppies experience a key socialization window where positive experiences help shape confident, adaptable adult dogs.
When socialization doesn’t go as planned, some dogs may develop fear, anxiety, or reactivity later in life and that’s okay. With the right guidance and support, dogs can still learn to feel safe and confident.

Meet Hex and his human, our amazing and talented Veterinary Technician, Sam!
Hex is a Great Pyrenees mix with a special superpower: he’s DEA 1-Negative, the “universal donor” blood type for dogs. That means his blood can safely help most dogs in an emergency.
About 40–45% of dogs share this type, and unlike humans, dogs don’t naturally have antibodies to other blood types making first-time transfusions often safe. Science + hero status = Hex.
