We are deeply saddened to share that Texas has reported the first measles-related death in over 20 years. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is reminding everyone how important vaccines are in keeping our kids, families, and communities protected from preventable illnesses like measles.

🩺 Symptoms: Fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash.

It’s that time of the year when illnesses start to rise, especially among our children. Here are the latest testing results from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta showing what’s currently circulating in our communities.

• RSV: 36.3% positive
• Rhinovirus/Enterovirus: 30% positive
• Mycoplasma: 9.2% positive
• Adenovirus: 6.2% positive
• Influenza A: 2.8% positive
• SARS-CoV-2: 0.6% positive

Let’s all do our part to keep our families healthy this holiday season! Ramping up infection control measures like frequent handwashing, covering coughs/sneezes, and keeping sick kids home when needed can make a big difference.
