Blumsack Family Chiropractic - West Cobb Chiropractor - Paul Blumsack DC

Blumsack Family Chiropractic - West Cobb Chiropractor - Paul Blumsack DC BFC is a veteran owned Upper Cervical, pediatric and family based Chiropractic practice. Our practice This is our passion and calling.

My wife Paula and I raised 5 children under chiropractic care. Prior to chiropractic care we were visiting the pediatrician almost on a weekly basis. After chiropractic care we saw a major improvement in not only our 5 children's health but also our health. It was after this miraculous change that I felt called to become a Chiropractor so that I could help other families raise healthy families versus sick families.

An adjustment doesn’t have to be loud to be life-changing. 💡

If the sound or feel of manual adjustments makes you hesitate, or you’re caring for someone more sensitive or fragile, please know this:

Chiropractic technique isn’t one-size-fits-all (Dr. Paul is highly skilled in many techniques) and care doesn’t have to be forceful to be effective. 🧠

Dr. Paul often uses instrument adjustments (like the Activator Method) with:
✨ Seniors navigating aging joints
✨ Pregnant mothers supporting their changing bodies
✨ Kids who need gentle, specific care for growing nervous systems

This handheld device delivers a focused, low-force impulse directly where it’s needed without twisting, cracking, or popping.

This is:
✔️ Incredibly gentle
✔️ Calibrated for precision
✔️ Specific to the area of subluxation (nervous system interference)

The result? Improved brain-body communication, better mobility, and natural self-healing—without overwhelming the system.

Out of office today. In our natural element. 🌱

We’re taking a pause for Labor Day, resting our own nervous systems and (hopefully) sneaking in some family time too.

Slowing down is hardwired into healing... and also, let’s be honest. It’s rare most days. Especially for those of us who default to go-go-go mode or caregiving 24/7 💆‍♀️💪

But true recovery doesn’t happen when you're cramming in rest between productivity sprints. It happens when you build rhythms that support your brain and body to feel safe. 🌿

For us, that looks like:
🌸 Wandering through peaceful gardens
🀄 Learning how to play mahjong
🏓 Tai chi classes and the occasional game of pickleball

Rest doesn’t have to be passive. Sometimes the best nervous system regulation comes from play, presence, and gentle movement.

What about you? What’s your version of “active rest”?

Pain is like a fire alarm—it gets your attention, but it’s not the problem itself. 🚨🔥
The real issue is often deeper, smoldering in places you can't see or feel yet.

Chiropractic doesn’t aim to silence the signal. It helps find and clear the cause—so your body can do what it was designed to do: heal, adapt, and thrive. 🧠✨

If this graphic hits home, share it with your community. Someone you know is walking around focused on the noise, not the fire.

And chiropractors—your time with patients is powerful. Use it well. Speak the principle. Teach them to see their body differently. Every conversation counts.

🧠⚡️Your nervous system It tells your heart when to beat.

Your lungs when to breathe.
Your gut when to digest.
Your muscles when to move.
Your brain how to process stress, sleep, and heal.

So when there’s interference in that system (even if you feel “OK”) your health starts to shift in ways that may seem unrelated at first:
😵‍💫 Brain fog
😴 Fatigue
🤕 Headaches
😣 Mood swings
😮‍💨 Trouble regulating emotions or digestion

That’s why we focus on the nervous system in our office.
Because when it’s not communicating clearly, nothing else can either.

At Blumsack Family Chiropractic, we correct interference, especially at the upper cervical spine, where your brain and body stay in constant conversation.
It’s not just about feeling better—it’s about functioning better.

Nervous systems—yours and your kid’s—are built for transitions.
But if you're already dysregulated and misaligned, even the small ones feel huge. 😵‍💫

That’s why we look beyond behavior.
Emotional meltdowns at drop-off, bedtime resistance, or the after-school crash often signal nervous system strain are not just “bad behavior.”

Through gentle, specific care, we help restore balance in the nervous system so transitions feel smoother and more manageable. For everyone in the family. 🧠💛

Because when your nervous system is aligned, life moves more easily too.

Hey parents/grandparents,
Did you know that your child/grandchilds overall health and well being is directly proportional to their postural alignment?
The more forward their head posture the higher probability of a weakened immune system.
This is why we emphasize making sure your Atlas is clear when we check your child/grandchild. Their Atlas protects the brainstem which is the gateway to the rest of your nervous system which also
controls immune response.

I did a quick AI search on Forward head posture and immunity and here are some of the results:

"Forward head posture can negatively impact the immune system by disrupting lymphatic flow, reducing oxygen intake from impaired respiratory function, promoting inflammation via poor sleep and mouth breathing, and interfering with the nervous system's ability to regulate immune responses. Proper alignment supports the body's natural defenses by improving circulation and oxygenation, which helps the body fight off pathogens and stay healthy.

How Forward Head Posture Affects the Immune System
Impaired Lymphatic Drainage:
The lymphatic system relies on muscle movement and body position to circulate lymph fluid, which removes waste products and fights infection. Forward head posture can kink these pathways, slowing this crucial flow and making it harder for the body to fight off illnesses.

Reduced Oxygen Intake:
Poor posture, including a forward head, compresses the diaphragm and lungs, hindering full oxygen exchange. Less oxygen in the body can weaken the immune response, making you more susceptible to illness and slowing healing.

Chronic Inflammation:
Forward head posture can lead to chronic pain and fatigue. It can also disrupt sleep, which is vital for immune health. High cortisol levels associated with poor sleep and inflammation further tax the immune system.

Mouth Breathing and Nasal Obstruction:
To open the airway with a forward head, people often resort to mouth breathing, which bypasses the nasal passages' filtering function. This can lead to drier mucosal surfaces, more viruses entering the lungs, and chronic inflammation, creating a cycle that worsens both the posture and the immune response.

Nervous System Disruption:
The cervical spine, housing the nervous system, protects the nerves that control immune function. Misalignments from forward head posture can disrupt this nerve communication, hindering the body's ability to mount an effective immune response to threats.

How to Support Your Immune System Through Posture
Maintain Proper Alignment:
A well-aligned posture supports optimal nervous system function, enabling the immune system to work efficiently.

Improve Breathing Habits:
Focusing on nasal breathing rather than mouth breathing helps filter pathogens and maintain proper respiratory function.
Incorporate Movement:
Regular movement and changes in body position help the lymphatic system to effectively drain and support the immune system."

The bottom line is "How's Their Atlas?"

Our Story

I became a chiropractor after seeing my wife and toddler daughter's chronic health problems resolve under chiropractic care. It was then that I decided to leave engineering school and become a chiropractor. Since graduating in 1994, I have helped many families regain and improve their health through specific chiropractic care.
