After deliberation and discussion the Georgia Council of Chiropractic Board of Directors has voted to remove our affiliate status from the ICA. This is a result of philosophical divergence of chiropractic philosophy and organizational direction of the ICA.

Formal Withdrawal of Affiliate Status from the International Chiropractors Association
Dear Members of the ICA Board of Directors,
On behalf of the Georgia Council of Chiropractic, this letter serves as formal notification of our decision to immediately withdraw our status as an affiliate organization of the International Chiropractors Association.
This decision has not been made lightly. The GCC has long valued the historic relationship between our organizations and the shared mission to protect and advance the chiropractic profession. However, after thorough deliberation, it has become clear that the current direction and governance of the ICA no longer align with the principles upon which both our organization and the chiropractic profession were founded.
Specifically, our decision is based upon the following serious concerns:
Election Integrity and Accountability – The recent Georgia Representative Assembly (RA) election revealed instances of election irregularities and unaddressed concerns regarding procedural fairness. Despite repeated requests for transparency and clarification, no satisfactory answers have been received. The lack of accountability in this process has undermined trust and confidence in the ICA’s governance structure.
Philosophical Divergence – The ICA’s increasing association with the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC)—an organization that publicly embraces progressive interpretations of chiropractic that minimize or deny the vertebral subluxation complex is fundamentally inconsistent with the GCC’s principled and traditional understanding of chiropractic. Our Council remains steadfast in its commitment to the detection and correction of vertebral subluxation as the central purpose of chiropractic care.
Organizational Direction – The current trajectory of the ICA, including its policy positions, leadership choices, and public alliances, reflects a departure from the foundational tenets of principled chiropractic. The GCC’s mission is to defend and promote the unadulterated principles of chiropractic as envisioned by its founders.
For these reasons, the Georgia Council of Chiropractic must respectfully, but firmly, request the immediate removal of our organization as an official ICA affiliate, effective upon receipt of this letter.
We sincerely wish the ICA well in its future endeavors. However, the GCC will continue to move forward independently, aligned with organizations and initiatives that uphold the integrity, philosophy, and distinctiveness of principled chiropractic.
Respectfully submitted,
Drew Henderson, DC
Vice President, Georgia Council of Chiropractic
On behalf of the GCC Board of Directors
