Dreams don’t expire!

After visiting 49 states with her late husband, Gerda planned Rhode Island with her daughter as a cancer-beating celebration. But when her daughter’s cancer returned suddenly, the trip never happened.

This month, with the help of her Arbor family and generous partners, Gerda finally completed her dream of visiting all 50 states.

The Time Out approach is something we proudly put into practice every day when caring for those with cognitive decline and we like to inspire families to utilize the same approach, so your loved one always feels supported.

Yes, Time Out is exactly what it sounds like – a sports analogy – but at The Arbor Company, it’s also so much more. Just like when a football coach calls a timeout, sometimes caregivers of loved ones with dementia need to take a step back and regroup when navigating difficult behavior or resistance to complete necessary tasks.
