As we stepped into April, we also stepped into our new theme of Balance—and what a meaningful start it has been 💛

Last week, we spent time talking about the importance of creating a healthy balance in our lives. One of the biggest takeaways was the reminder that we can’t pour from an empty cup. So often, we give and give to others, but this month we’re focusing on making sure we are also pouring into ourselves—mentally, emotionally, and physically. When we take care of ourselves, we show up stronger for everything and everyone around us.

We also had a wonderful time at our Easter lunch 🐣 The turnout was amazing, and it was so special to see everyone come together, share a meal, and enjoy each other’s company. Moments like those truly remind us what community is all about.

Looking ahead to this week, we’ll be focusing on gratitude—specifically the things in our lives that keep us grounded and centered. Taking time to recognize those things can help us maintain balance, even when life feels overwhelming.

Here’s what we have coming up:
✨ Tuesday – Gratitude Group
We’ll begin our focus on the things that keep us grounded and help us stay centered in our daily lives.

✨ Wednesday at 1 PM – NAMI Connections (FREE & open to the public)
NAMI Connections is a peer-led support group for individuals living with mental health conditions. It offers a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space to share experiences, gain insight, and connect with others who understand.

💜 Thursday – Grief Group
A space to process, share, and support one another through grief in all its forms.

🎨 Friday – Jenga Art
We’re putting a creative twist on a classic balance game! Members will decorate pieces to help us create our very own House of Hope Jenga—a fun and meaningful way to represent balance and individuality.

We’re excited to continue this journey of finding balance together 🌿

As we wrap up the month of March, we’ve spent this time focusing on our theme of growth—and what a beautiful journey it has been.

This month reminded us that growth isn’t always about the big picture or the end goal. It’s about the small victories… and even the tiny victories within those. It’s about learning to pause, recognize those moments, and truly celebrate them. Because those little steps? They matter more than we sometimes realize.

We’ve also spent time reflecting on transformation—not dwelling on where we’ve been, but honoring the progress we’ve made. Growth isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress. It’s about showing up, trying again, and giving ourselves grace along the way.

One of the most special parts of this month has been watching our caterpillars, knowing they will soon become butterflies. 🐛🦋 Such a powerful visual reminder of what transformation really looks like.

“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.”

This quote holds so much meaning. There are moments in life that feel heavy… moments where it feels like everything is falling apart. But those moments can also be the beginning of something beautiful. It’s a reminder to hold on, to trust the process, and to believe that even in the darkest times, growth is still happening.

And in the true essence of growth—we’ve seen it not just in ourselves, but in our community. Our numbers have nearly doubled this month as spring has arrived, the sun is shining, and people are ready to get back out, reconnect, and enjoy the warmth together.

We are so proud of every step taken this month—big, small, and everything in between.

As we look ahead, April will be focused on balance—and the important role a healthy balance plays in our mental health. We’re excited to explore what that looks like for each of us.

Here’s to continuing to grow, transform, and celebrate every victory along the way. 🫶🏻💚

This month at the House of Hope, we’re continuing to focus on our theme of growth 🌱

This week, we spent time talking about handling challenges and recognizing the people who help us grow along the way. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s always meaningful when we support one another through it.

We also had some fun getting creative with a flower craft 🌸 What started as a simple project turned into a beautiful surprise as this was our first time trying this activity. After adding spray, the petals began to bleed into one another, creating unique and unexpected designs. No two flowers were the same, and that was the best part—just like growth, the outcome isn’t always predictable, but it can still be something wonderful. We had such a great time watching them come to life!

Today, we focused on grief—how to navigate it, talk about it, and support each other through it. These conversations are never easy, but they are so important, and we’re grateful to have a space where we can share and heal together.

Tomorrow, we’ll continue our growth journey by creating a growth mosaic, and we’ll carry this theme with us throughout the rest of the month.

We’re also excited to share that our caterpillars should be arriving next week 🐛🦋 We can’t wait to watch them transform into butterflies—a perfect reflection of growth and change.

As always, thank you to everyone who walks alongside us in this journey 💚

🌱 Welcome March at the House of Hope! 🦋

As we step into a new month, we’re excited to introduce our March theme: Growth. Growth in recovery, growth in self-awareness, and growth in the ways we support one another.

Throughout the month, all of our meetings and groups (with the exception of NAMI and Grief Group) will focus on the many aspects of growth in recovery. Together we will explore what it means to grow through challenges, celebrate progress, and remember that recovery is about progress, not perfection.

This month we will also be doing a special activity that symbolizes transformation and hope. 🌿 Members will raise caterpillars and watch them transform into butterflies, reminding us that even when change feels uncomfortable or uncertain, something beautiful can emerge from the process.

Just like the butterfly, recovery often requires patience, courage, and trust in the journey. Growth may not always be easy, but it can lead to incredible transformation.

🦋 “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.”

We invite our members and community to join us this month as we learn, grow, and support one another in recovery.

Be sure to check out our March calendar below for all of our upcoming activities and groups. We look forward to growing together! 🌱✨

Today we were blessed with the opportunity to represent NAMI of Washington County (and HOH) at a Health & Wellness Resource Fair hosted by Marietta College at Ely Chapman.

We made many valuable connections and learned about new resources available in our community — which is always one of our favorite parts of events like this. Opportunities like these strengthen our ability to support our peers by staying informed about services and building meaningful partnerships while also spreading mental health awareness

We are grateful for the chance to collaborate, connect, and continue working together to support mental health and wellness across our community 💚

❤️ Finishing February Strong at the House of Hope ❤️

As we close out the month of February, we are proud to say we finished our theme of LOVE strong. Throughout the month, we focused on loving ourselves while navigating mental illness — exploring self-love, self-care, healing, and the importance of loving and supporting one another. Watching our members encourage each other and grow together has been truly inspiring.

We were also honored to participate in the planning committee for the 2026 Recovery Summit today. It is a privilege to help shape such an important event, and we are grateful to have a seat at the table. We look forward to attending the Summit this September and continuing to support recovery in our communities.

🌱 Looking Ahead to March — Our Theme is GROWTH
Next month, we will focus on transformation, progress (not perfection), and nurturing our mental health as we continue our recovery journeys. Growth can be challenging, but it can also be beautiful — and no one has to do it alone.

Important Reminder:
The House of Hope will be closed Monday, March 2 for staff only.

The House of Hope Board Meeting will be held Monday, March 2 at 4:30 PM.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, March 3rd and continuing this journey together. 💚

✨ Today’s Activity at the House of Hope ✨

Even though our calendar listed self-portraits, today’s activity beautifully evolved into something even more meaningful 💛

The original idea was for members to look into a mirror and paint or draw what they love about themselves. But as creativity began to flow, the group decided they would rather decorate the mirrors themselves — turning them into powerful affirmation mirrors.

Members added uplifting words, colors, and designs so that every time they look in the mirror, they’ll be reminded of their strength, worth, and beauty. 🪞✨

What started as an art project became a tangible tool for self-love, encouragement, and healing — something they can carry with them long after today.

We love seeing our members take ownership of activities and shape them into what they truly need in the moment. 💙

💛 A Beautiful Week of Self-Love at the House of Hope 💛

Last week, we spent time focusing on self-love, healthy coping, and learning to appreciate ourselves — and what a meaningful week it was! We are so proud of our members for showing up, supporting one another, and doing the hard work of healing.

We also had a small change of plans on the 12th. While we originally planned a movie outing, we switched things up and enjoyed a wonderful meal together at Cracker Barrel instead. Sometimes the best moments come from unexpected changes ❤️

We were also grateful to host NAMI Connections last week. Our next Connections group will be held next month on the second Wednesday, and all are welcome to attend.

🌟 Coming Up This Week — Appreciating Others & Ourselves 🌟

This week, we are shifting our focus to learning to appreciate others while continuing to honor our own worth and beauty.

🧡 Tuesday: Appreciating Others — Gratitude Group
🎨 Wednesday: Loving the Beauty of Ourselves — Self-Portrait Painting
💙 Thursday: Grief Group
🎲 Friday (the 20th): Coping Activities & Games — Learning to Love Ourselves

At the House of Hope, every activity is designed to build connection, confidence, and hope. You are never alone here 💛

If you or someone you know could benefit from a supportive, welcoming community, we would love to have you join us.
