Real self-knowledge comes only from seriously and methodically questioning everything you believe about yourself and the world.

You have to examine your beliefs, values, feelings, reasons for doing things, habits, fears, wants, and even who you think you are - without letting comfort, tradition, or what other people think stop you. Keep asking hard questions without holding back.

This steady, honest questioning breaks down the layers of ideas you’ve picked up from family, society, culture, and your own mind without realizing it. It shows you clearly what actually belongs to the real you and what you’ve just accepted or absorbed automatically.

When you keep doing this truthfully over time, the false ideas and illusions fall away. Slowly, you start to see your true core self - the person underneath all the automatic patterns and outside influences.

In this approach, knowing yourself isn’t something that just happens naturally or passively. It is an active, lifelong practice of courageously and persistently asking tough questions about everything.

The more deeply and fearlessly you question, the clearer and more accurate your understanding of who you really are becomes.💛

In honor of Thyroid Awareness Month, we decided to shed some light on the colossal impact that this tiny gland has on the human body!

Five Fun Facts:

1. The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located in the front of the neck. It typically measures about 2 inches long and consists of two symmetrical lobes connected by a narrow isthmus (hence the comparison to a butterfly).🦋

2. Despite its small size, the thyroid plays a central role in regulating metabolism, influencing nearly every cell in the body!! It produces hormones that control energy use, heart rate, body temperature, breathing, digestion, brain development, and mood.⚡️

3. Women are significantly more susceptible to thyroid disorders than men, being 5-8 times more likely to develop issues! It is estimated that 1 in 8 women will experience a thyroid problem during her lifetime, often linked to factors like autoimmune conditions, pregnancy, or perimenopause/menopause.😓

4. Approximately 20 million Americans have some form of thyroid disease, yet an estimated 60% remain undiagnosed. Common conditions include hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), and thyroid nodules or cancer.🏥
