A bottle of water at Sam's is $0.25.

A bottle at the grocery store is worth about $0.50.

The same bottle at a bar costs $2.

In a restaurant or hotel it can be worth up to $3.

An airport or on the plane, you may be charged $5.

The bottle and the brand is the same, the only thing that changes is the place. Each place gives a different value to the same product.

When you feel like you are worth nothing and everyone around you belittles you, change places, do not stay there.

Have the courage to change places and go to a place where you are given the value you deserve. Surround yourself with people who truly appreciate your worth.

Don't ever settle for less.

Don't make yourself small.
Not for anyone.
If someone tells you
you're too much...
too loud, too sensitive,
too fierce, too caring,
too intellectual, too optimistic,
too realistic, too logical, too emotional...
just smile and move on.
Clearly, they aren't enough for you.

I don't know who needs to hear this but mental health is health. Do what you need to do to stay healthy. By that I mean, don't expose yourself to toxic people just because it's the holiday season.

Did you know that Pride originated as a celebration of the Stonewall Riots of 1969 (among other additional riots across the country)? The Stonewall Riots, led primarily by LGBTQ+ people of color in New York, were a response to discrimination, violence, and police raids within LGBTQ+ community spaces.
While activists have driven progress throughout the last 50+ years, we are unfortunately living in a time where LGBTQ+ rights are being debated and, all too often, reversed across the country.
In celebrating Pride Month this June, we encourage you to learn more about current legislation pending in many states across the US. The ACLU has a comprehensive list of bills broken down by type and state if you are interested in learning more! Happy Pride!
