What causes pain to become centralized? When pain signals keep firing, the nervous system can rewire itself, amplifying discomfort even when no tissue damage exists.

Our latest blog explains how central pain develops, why early intervention matters, and what treatment options can help. Read the full article on our website ➡️ https://georgiachiropracticneurologycenter.com/what-causes-pain-to-become-centralized/

Pain isn’t always tied to a visible injury. The International Association for the Study of Pain now defines pain as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience shaped by the brain and nervous system, not just tissue damage.

This explains complex conditions like fibromyalgia, CRPS, and phantom limb pain, known collectively as central pain syndromes (CPS).

At GCNC, we use cutting-edge neurological rehabilitation to address pain at its source: the nervous system itself.

Tics are different from other movement disorders because they’re usually linked to an inner urge and bring relief once performed. Other conditions, like dystonia, myoclonus, or chorea, may look similar but don’t follow this pattern.

Getting the diagnosis right matters. At GCNC, we take time to understand each patient’s unique symptoms so care is tailored to the true cause.

💡 If you or your child is experiencing unusual movements or sounds, we’re here to help. Schedule your free consultation today.

Tourette Syndrome (TS) is more than just a tic. It is a neurological condition that impacts children and adults in unique ways.

Beyond tics, Tourette Syndrome often comes with other conditions like ADHD, OCD, anxiety, or sleep difficulties. These can make everyday tasks, like focusing in school, managing stress, or getting enough rest, much harder.

At GCNC, we look at the whole picture. By focusing on brain-based therapies that target the underlying neurological pathways, our care helps patients manage symptoms naturally and improve quality of life.

If you or your child is living with tics or Tourette Syndrome, we’re here to help.

Imagine feeling a constant urge, like an itch you can’t scratch, that forces you to blink, jerk, or make a sudden sound. That’s what living with tics feels like.

Tics can affect confidence, concentration, and emotional well-being. They often come with coexisting challenges like ADHD, OCD, anxiety, or sleep problems.

Tics are sudden, repetitive movements or sounds that a person can’t control.

There are two main types:

👉 Motor Tics: movements like blinking, shoulder shrugging, or head jerking.

👉 Vocal Tics: sounds like throat clearing, sniffing, grunting, or even words.

While many tics in children are temporary, some can persist or develop into conditions like Tourette Syndrome. Understanding the difference is the first step in supporting someone who lives with tics.

If you or your child is experiencing tics, our team at Georgia Chiropractic Neurology Center can help. Schedule a free consultation to learn more.
