For any mutual aid Fire Companies wishing to pay last respects to Past Chief Michael Giambra, we will be holding a Fire Service memorial on Saturday April 18th. Anyone attending, please assemble in front of the Marilla Fire Hall in class A uniform by 9:45. Service begins at 10am . Additionally the Giambra family is holding a celebration of life on the same day starting at 11 am to be held in our banquet hall for Family & close friends. If your company or Department plans to attend, please reach out to President Bill Blarr or Chief Michael Griffin.

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Past Chief Michael A. Giambra. Michael joined the Marilla Fire Company October 2, 1968 and during his almost 58 year career served in countless capacities and offices.

3rd assistant chief 1977 and 1979
2nd assistant chief 1978 and 1983
1st assistant chief 1980 and 1987
Elected Marilla Fire Company Chief 1981, 1985 and 1986.

Eventually Michael moved into administrative leadership, serving as 2nd Vice President 1992-1995, 1996, 1997, and 2008. 1st vice president 2000,2002,2009 and 2010. Fire Company President in 1995 and Director 1977-1994, 1996-2003, 2007-2009. Mike was also a large part of the very successful Marilla Carnival years, serving as Chairman 1969-1973 and again 1978-1980.

The officers and members of the Marilla Fire Company owe Michael and his loving family a debt of gratitude for his lifetime of service to the Town of Marilla, its residents and the Marilla Fire Company.

Rest peacefully Chief, you will be missed.
