Please marry a man who respects you when he's angry.

How he treats you in conflict reveals his character.

Anyone can be nice when things are going well.

Anyone can be loving when they're getting their way.

Anyone can be respectful when they're not frustrated.

But how does he treat you when he's upset?

Anger doesn't excuse disrespect or abuse.

Being mad doesn't give him permission to call you names.

Being frustrated doesn't justify raising his voice at you.

Being angry doesn't excuse cruel or degrading comments.

Being upset doesn't make it okay to threaten or intimidate you.

His worst moments should still show his love.

Even in anger, he should protect your dignity.

Even in conflict, he should honor your worth.

Even in disagreement, he should maintain respect.

Even when frustrated, he should guard your heart.

A good man controls his anger, he doesn't let it control him.

A mature man addresses issues without attacking character.

A loving man fights for the relationship, not against you.

A respectful man disagrees without being disagreeable.

If he becomes cruel when he's angry, that's who he really is.

If he uses your insecurities against you in fights, he's not safe.

If he threatens to leave every time you disagree, he's manipulative.

If he punishes you with silence or withdrawal, he's immature.

Marry someone whose love remains constant through every emotion.
