May 31st will be the last class offered by PTL.

When I began dreaming of stepping into the fitness world, the desire was to help others become the best versions of themselves they could be. In a world that gives band-aid offerings for health, I wanted to give people the tools they needed to move from sickness, to health. Better movement, better quality of life. It’s never given immediately; it takes time, effort, and discipline, but for those who spent time with us for the last 10 months, that goal was achieved. Tools of fitness were given to help improve the quality of lives.

One of the classic statments stated by the founder of CrossFit was “the greatest physiological adaptations that happen in the gym is between the ears.” For me, the sharpening that happened during the last 10 months of training and coaching was a refining of my calling. It became clear to me through my time with PTL that my calling wasn’t full-time in the world of fitness, but back in the world I stepped out of, in the work of Ministry. That is why I will be shutting down PTL Fitness, and stepping back into Ministering to the Youth at Faith Peshtigo, as well as starting seminary this fall at William Tennant School of Theology.

I am incredibly grateful for this season. Thank you to all the athletes who trusted me with coaching and training them. Thank you to the Ironfit Family for allowing me to use their facilities for training. Thank you to Derek at the Armati Collective in Sturgeon Bay for the invaluable coaching you provided for me over this season. Thank you to Sarah and my kids for allowing me to jump into this with both feet and no idea where it would lead. Thank you to all who encouraged me through this season, you words had a bigger impact than you may realize.

What to expect when you come to a CrossFit class with PTL…

👉 Welcoming Community: we take hospitality seriously, it’s not easy stepping into a new gym or class. We have a community of athlete’s who are excited for you to join us! When you step in the gym, you’re going to hear a few “Hey’s!”

👉Whiteboard Briefing: Before we hit the floor we know our intended stimulus for the workout. This is where you’ll hear scaling options, goal times, and how to face the workout ahead of you.

🔥Warmup: The warmup is more than just raising your body temperature, it’s our opportunity to correct form, teach technique, and prepare you physically for the workout.

🔥The WoD: Workout of the Day. From heavy days with a barbell to endurance days with gymnastic movements, the WoD has an intended stimulus to help you increase your fitness across the board. Stronger muscles, more mobile joints, and better endurance are just a few of the areas we aim to get better at.

🎉The Cooldown: An opportunity to process the workout, assess strengths and weakness, and adjust goals and expectations going forward.

The whiteboard briefing. A potent and important piece to any good training session. Whether it’s a group class or personal training, the whiteboard briefing is the first step in successfully training with purpose.

The whiteboard briefing gives two things: confidence and clarity. Confidence that you can do the task set before you, clarity in how you will accomplish it. A good whiteboard briefing will explain the movements, give scaling options, and help determine weight loads for the workout.

Member Spotlight: 🔥Eric Olson🔥

Eric wears a lot of hats - husband, father of three (number 4 on the way!) full time in IT, football coach at MHS, volunteer at church, and more. Needless to say, Eric is trying to burn bright at home and in his community. Eric started at PTL a little over a month ago and is crushing it! We asked Eric a couple questions about his first 30 days with PTL…

What sort of progress did you see in your first 30 days with PTL?
E: “I have seen a ton of progress. I can feel the differences in moving around day to day while doing yard work or playing with my kids. Other people have even commented on how I am looking better and I can tell in the mirror that I am more toned than I was just 30 day ago.”

What do you like about training with PTL?
E: “I like the atmosphere, the people, and the coach. Great balance of working, learning, and fun.”
