It's a big ask, but the only way to find a matching donor is to ask. So here we are...
In 2011 a close family friend became even closer after he decided to test and donate his kidney to Randy. It was a miraculous match that meant *t h e w o r l d* to Randy and his family; his wife, two daughters, and so many others who love him very much. Because of the donation he was able to carry on owning his local business in Cedar Rapids, walk his youngest daughter down the isle, become "Papa" to 4 sweet boys, build a house for his parents, travel, and so much more. He continued life without having to limit where he could go and what he could do because of the restrictions of a body without kidneys relying on dialysis. 11 and a half years later, all because of his donor, his daughters have their dad, his wife has her husband, his sister has her brother, and his mother has her son. This donated kidney has worked so hard for his body and is beginning to run out of steam. Randy is not on dialysis yet, however, once his kidney reaches failure, dialysis fills in. Dialysis isn't sustainable for life for a very long period of time. Randy's doctors are hopeful for him, along with his family, to find a donor before dialysis.
