We would like to take this time to thank all the Veterans on this day and every day. Your dedication, and commitment to this great nation does not go unnoticed. Marion Funeral Home has been directed and operated by veterans from past to present: Vietnam veterans Raymond F. Davis and Mr. Dyson, Mark Johnson (Desert Storm),Shawnta Nichols (Iraqi veteran) and Thaddeus James (Iraqi and Afghanistan Veteran). This year we would like to highlight Gloria Evans as our Veteran of the year. Ms. Evans is a Vietnam Veteran. Evans was one of the first African American women to help start the senior level sexual harassment program while in the Air Force. Evans served as the Director of Marion County Veterans Affairs and was a significant driving force while there. Still to this day, the community still sees her as a wealth of knowledge and continues to seek her for advice. Her name and superior reputation still echoes today on the county, state, and national level. Her work helped the County of Marion Economics bring in millions of dollars per year.
From Marion Funeral Home, THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE SERVED.
