Foothills Industries of McDowell County, Inc. The purpose of FOOTHILLS INDUSTRIES OF McDOWELL COUNTY, INC.

The mission of Foothills Industries is to provide vocational and life-skills training and employment for persons with disabilities in order to maximize independence and employment while providing quality products at competitive costs and on-time delivery. is:

• To provide a facility to house programs which serve people with
disabilities.
• To provide organized developmental activities designated to prepare
individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible.
• To provide a vocational evaluation for people with disabilities in order to
determine a realistic work potential.
• To provide vocational training and job coaching for people with
disabilities in order to prepare them for employment and maintaining
employment.
• To provide long-term training and/or work for people with disabilities who
are unable to enter the competitive labor market.

Are you looking for more than just a job? Are you wanting to make a difference in the lives of others while supporting them in having their best day?

Foothills Industries seeks a compassionate, patient and reliable individual as a Direct Support Professional supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities participating in our day program. As a DSP you will engage with our individuals as they work to achieve daily goals, learn independent living skills, participate in Adult Basic Education classes, and improve social interaction skills. You will also promote participation in health and wellness activities as well as safety focused activities. You will be an important part of a team that provides therapeutic support while making a positive impact in the lives of our individuals.

Other job duties will include providing transportation, becoming certified in First Aid/CPR, and engaging in community activities with our individuals.

Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), clean driving record, pass a criminal background check, and nurse aid registry check.

Benefits include 12 paid holidays, health insurance, options for other insurances, retirement, and paid training.

Hours are 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. Applications are available at our office.
