Meet Ryan Pickut, Vice President of Alum Creek Clinical Services at Maryhaven.

With more than 20 years of experience helping youth, adults, and families navigate mental health and addiction challenges, Ryan has dedicated his career to advancing the counseling profession at both the state and national levels.

He has served as Chair of the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage/Family Therapist License Board and as President of the American Association of State Counselor Boards, where his leadership has left a lasting impact on the field.

At Maryhaven, Ryan’s love for innovation and creativity shines: “Working at Maryhaven gives me the chance to make decisions that enhance the experience and outcomes of our clients and the community.”

Kratom is getting a lot of attention in Ohio right now - and Maryhaven is part of the conversation. 💬

Our own Adam Jurich, VP of Stabilization Services, recently spoke with NBC4 about what we’re seeing in the community.

“The biggest fear, I would say, that I fear about with kratom, is actually adolescence - kids that are in school, kids that are wanting to be the best that they can be, kids that are looking for an escape, the stressors of life.”

Adam also stressed the need for more research and stronger safeguards to keep people safe. “As something new comes out, you have to be more aggressive with it… we haven’t studied it enough to know what the effects of it are.”

At Maryhaven, we believe awareness and education are the first steps toward hope and healing.
