Sick kids need plenty of fluids and the most important item to offer a sick child.

Fluids are very important to keep your child from becoming dehydrated. Children being smaller than adults, can get dehydrated quickly and this can lead to more serious problems. Most of our body is made of water. All the complex chemical reactions and other activities in our body need water!

Winter Weather Reminder ❄️

Cold temperatures can be more than uncomfortable—they can be dangerous. When heading outside, dress in warm layers, cover exposed skin, and wear a hat, gloves, and sturdy footwear to prevent frostbite and slips on ice. Limit time outdoors in extreme cold and check on children, older adults, and neighbors who may need extra help staying warm.

Stay safe and warm this winter!

💙 This Cervical Health Awareness Month, we’re highlighting important tools for preventing cervical cancer.

Getting the HPV vaccine early helps protect children from six types of cancer before they ever come in contact with the virus.

Cervical Cancer screenings, also called "pap tests," are essential. They screen for cervical changes early, often before cancer develops and when treatment is most effective. Regular screening saves lives.

🎄 Don’t Spoil the Holidays 🦃

The best gift you can give your family and guests is a holiday meal that’s safe to enjoy! Follow these simple food safety tips to keep everyone healthy this season:

🍗 Prepare Safely

Wash hands with soap and water before, during, and after handling food.
Use separate cutting boards for raw meat and ready-to-eat foods.
Cook foods to safe internal temperatures (use a food thermometer!).

❄️ Chill Out

Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours (or 1 hour if food is left out in a warm room).
Divide large portions into shallow containers so they cool faster.
Keep your fridge at 40°F or below.

🥡 Leftover Know-How

Eat refrigerated leftovers within 3–4 days.
Reheat leftovers to 165°F before eating.
When in doubt, throw it out.

🧼 Clean as You Go

Clean and sanitize countertops, utensils, and serving dishes.
Don’t reuse plates or utensils that touched raw meat without washing them first.

✨ A little planning goes a long way—protect your celebrations by keeping food safety top of mind. Let’s keep the holidays joyful, not spoiled!
